✹ Born in Buenos Aires, @jaijiu is an audiovisual artist influenced by the Argentine club sound, as well as its folklore and cumbia. His productions approach the rhythm in an edgy way, mixing his roots with current influences. We're presenting you his new 34 minutes mix for Swine Daily.

▮ "Drums and not too many notes. I wanted to make a hard drum mix with edits of mine. It took me roughly 5 hours to make. 1 hour gathering the songs and the rest chopping and screwing around the mix to create something that flows smoothly. I wanted to have control of the whole thing so I decided to edit the whole mix as if it were a continuously song." ▮

∎) Well first of all, can you transfer this musical energy of your favorite songs into visual art? Are you thinking about the intersection of music and visual art like drawing, painting, design, and typography of course?

"I think this idea of transferring musical energy into visuals is one of the key aspects of why I love type so much: it's not just visuals. It's layer upon layer of meaning. You have the lyrics, the meaning of them, and you have the typeface composing the lyrics. Different typefaces can give profoundly different meanings to the same lyrics, and my interest lies in drawing typefaces that translate my own understanding of the lyrics, or feel of the music in case of instrumentals. I have a Fine Arts background, and it is impossible for me not to think about the intersection of every kind of design and art. For me, it's all tied. It all feeds into each other. It just happens that to me, type is the ultimate art and design form, because of this layering I just mentioned. Type is the aspect that brings everything together."

𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐱 ➽ Warsaw-based Julian Płoski, known as Julek Ploski, is a Polish experimental music artist, producer, and composer. On his gendre-bending albums, Julek blends baroque aesthetics, metal, hyperpop, spoken word, piano or hard dance. As on this guest mix exclusively created for Swine Daily, we can hear Julek's surreal, eerie, and theatrical experiences.

From citing parts from the various movies, to Bred Mehldau's piano interpretation of Elliott Smith, to Japanese game soundtracks, Leonard Cohen, an interview with Jeff Bezos, or a baile funk remix of Justin Bieber. Nobody does it like Julek. Every time I hear Julek's music, I feel like I'm watching a theatre play. It's this atmosphere between soundtracks, spoken words, music collages, and silence, it's just incredible.
