Conceived as part of an A/V show with visual artist Nicolò Cervello, ‘Kitbashing’ marks ABADIR’s third album for SVBKVLT.

A growing number of people spend an extensive amount of time watching, scrolling, liking, commenting on and sharing content, whilst at the same time feeding a constant stream of personal data to social media platforms. Social media can be fun and informative, or draining and dark. Either way, their algorithms are purposefully designed to lock users in a continuous state of scrolling. The more time spent online, the more desires, interests and emotions are fed into the algorithm for consumerist ends and reality is reduced to a timeline of curated aesthetics.

Using audio snippets from reels, suggested posts, and sponsored ads, sound objects are cut, micro-edited and meshed together into a collage. Tension is built gradually before falling into a release. Rhythms keep expanding and contracting, simulating the pace of random scrolling on mobile devices. ‘Kitbashing’ is an attempt to break the algorithm: subverting the dynamics by feeding on the algorithm instead of only feeding it.

ABADIR - Kicks and Clickbaits

xato is a Vienna-based Greek artist, producer, audio engineer and label owner whose heavy-hitting sound has carved space across both electronic and rap spheres worldwide. A shape-shifter in studio and on stage, xato’s approach to sound design thrives on impact and adaptability, building sonic worlds that merge brute force with intricate detail.

This year, xato delivered a 5-track collaboration EP with 645AR on vocals, as well as a release featuring production from 0neo, Brodinski, umru, BASECK, DJ LOSER, Ludwig Wandinger, and BloodzBoi’s side project yy02, issued through his own imprint xyx. Alongside this, he released another collaborative EP with Japan’s BBBBBBB, in which xato’s distorted, abstract soundscapes collide with BBBBBBB’s screams and human textures, also featuring appearances from 645AR and DJ LOSER. In tandem with his production, xato’s DJ and live sets stand as unique one-off experiences, equally rooted in improvisation and precision which delivers the same cathartic release which can be found in his productions.

For this mix, xato channels harsh and frenetic club music into thirty minutes of industrial-experimental euphoria, drawing from artists and sounds that have been inspiring his recent work.

Don’t even try to breathe steady, the air is thick with distortion and bass snarls that cut sharper than glass. Where sweetness flips into menace, where trance melts into chaos, where every kick hits like a bruise. Girl… this isn’t calm, this place’s about to blow… I’m dragging you through glitch and shadow, sweat and static, until you can’t tell if you’re dancing or dissolving. Oh god I lost you again… or wait… is that you?

IDKLANG is the moniker of the Vienna-based musician, composer, and producer Markus Steinkellner, whose many projects also include Mermaid & Seafruit, Arktis/Air, Jakuzi’s Attempt, and many more. Over the course of the last ten years, they’ve been performing live shows, conceptual improv sessions, and DJ sets around the world; writing music for theatre pieces and dance performances. Their body of work is characterized by highly-energetic compositions that masterfully handle tension and release, oscillating between loud blasts and heartfelt, grandiose melodies. Seamlessly blending genres such as post-punk, witch house, pop or hardcore, IDKLANG crafts post-nihilist outbursts of an erratic mind. Influenced by club music as well as noise or industrial, their music ranges from accelerated, high-energy tracks to haunted drone sceneries, creating the perfect soundtrack for dystopian euphoria.

⇯ 𝐒𝐖𝐈𝐍𝐄 𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐈𝐄𝐑𝐄 ⇯ @osheyack and @nahashisalive teamed up for an incredible track called "Le Temps Fou" for the new 42-track compilation by Spanish label and event series @flux-aeterna-968106596

➜ Osheyack about this track: "The track it’s something Raph and I (Eli, Osheyack) made quickly, sending stems and samples back and forth for a few days. The main sample is from the album Le Temps Fou by Marion Brown (1969)." The duo has flipped the saxophonist Marion Brown's music into a totally mad club-hybrid storm in their signature style.

¶ Curated by Yugen Kala, the initiative "Flux" started as a series of monthly events that have consistently acted as a meeting point where diverse musical and cultural paradigms intersect. Flux connects Galicia’s local scene with varied international voices, creating a dialogue that transforms difference into resonance. In this sense, the project can be understood as a living exchange - shaped by an ongoing flux of experiences, sounds, and knowledge - where seemingly disconnected communities are brought together organically.

¶ Over more than 50 editions and 100 performances, this ethos has materialized in an expansive constellation of talent, such as: seminal label founders Kode9 (Hyperdub), μ-Ziq (Planet Mu), Rabit (Halcyon Veil), Mumdance (Different Circles), Fausto Bahía & Mexican Jihad (NAAFI), Kamixlo (Bala Club), and Endgame (Precious Metals); cutting-edge voices from Shanghai’s SVBKVLT, including 33EMYBW and Osheyack; artists associated with Nyege Nyege, such as Ecko Bazz, Phelimuncasi, De Schuurman, and Sisso & Maiko; and Lisbon’s Príncipe Discos, featuring Nídia, DJ Marfox, DJ Firmeza, and DJ Narciso.

¶ To commemorate this trajectory, Flux presents a compilation featuring 42 exclusive contributions from past guests on their new label, Flux Æterna. This compilation stands as both an archival gesture and a statement of intent, celebrating a legacy of reinvention while opening new paths forward.
