This is the debut EP by Core Fields for Switchstance Recordings. It showcases his great talent of producing and composing beautiful soundscapes that incorporate the beauty of planet earth and its dusty rhythms. 

Core Fields started his journey exploring the craft of music through various styles and genres of music. He got inspired to start producing sounds with acoustic instruments combined with future synthesizer sounds led by the rhythm of dirty old vinyl drum tracks and electronically created drum patterns. Using different ethnic sounds and instruments his intention is to create imaginary landscapes for the listener´s mind. Through the years Core Fields collaborated with several talented artists that can be heard on his current releases.

In his own words:

“My music is inspired by and dedicated to the wilderness of this planet, the beauty of nature, the love for humans, animals, insects and life itself. While searching for answers through the mysteries of life i find my peace in the heart of music. Individually and as a collective we all go through the ups and downs of life. My intention is to share this musical experience by translating these emotions throughout my productions.

The production process always starts with the rhythm section. Layering different samples to get a ‘moving beat’. In this process i search for dark, heavy, crusty percussive sound recordings. Throughout this process i work out the composition and try to find that 'right sound' that will compliment the element of rhythm. Choosing different instruments to bring in those melancholic vibes and using complimentary FX to finalize the production. I always try to create a mystical feeling with those strange synthesizer sounds blended with the sweet sound of various acoustic instruments.”

Dutch artist and composer Andert Tysma come out from behind the shadows to release his debut album on Apollo Records this autumn. The seasoned musician has toured the world performing bass and piano with several artists and bands, and on ‘Children Of Trinoom’, Tysma fully immerses himself in a solo offering of breathtaking quality.

Recorded primarily in Atlas Studios on the outskirts of Berlin and engineered and mixed by the award winning Robin Hunt, who constructed a unique recording space in a repurposed GDR metal foundry, the long player brings together eight emotive and tender compositions showcasing the refreshing neo-classic style that Tysma has made his own.

A visit to Nashville, Tennessee and a love of country music led to the incorporation of the pedal steel guitar into Tysma’s music, played beautifully by David Gram on two tracks here. ‘Children Of Trinoom’ continues to take influence from everyday situations and decisions, as well as from the world of art, music and literature. The album is, in part, inspired by the Dutch jazz conductor, pianist, trumpeter and latterly (like Tysma himself), a doctor, Boy Edgar.

The entirely instrumental suite of compositions tells an abstract autobiographical story in eight diverging tracks, investigating the juxtaposition of a disparate world, an essential theme for Tysma.

"Switchstance" is taken from the culture of boardsports, meaning the skill used to change the stance (easily) by switching one's foot position. The stance in freestyle Snowboarding or Skateboarding, is either riding in "regular" (left foot forward) or "goofy" (right foot forward) position. This identifies a really skilled rider and opens up a whole new world of trick combinations.

The label's creed and therefore the style of its producers and DJs is to have ultimate freedom, whether in their musical movements or in "switching" between various styles. The aim of the label is to combine early musical influences such as Funk, Jazz, Latin, 90´s Hip Hop and Reggae with the most progressive techniques of electronic music production in order to create a new dynamic sound that pays respect to the diverse cultures it comes from. It is the soundtrack of the lives of artists that dedicate their time and energy to produce cutting-edge grooves for a conscious and openminded generation.

Inspired by the label members' and friends' lifestyles in music, boardsports, arts and travels; the sound of Switchstance is always in motion and reflects a unique vision and attitude towards modern life.
