June 23rd marks the arrival of the long-awaited proper reissue of Amara Toure’s groundbreaking Afro-latin studio works captured between 1973 and 1980. Analog Africa has prepared a special gatefold double LP version on 140g vinyl, encompassing the three singles he recorded under the Black and White ensemble between 1973 and 1976 along with the highly coveted Orchestre Massako group’s stunning 1980 LP Accompagné Par L’Orchestre Massako. This is the entire known works of the mystic composer and it is stated in the press that after he recorded Accompagné Par L’Orchestre Massako, he would never been seen again and his whereabouts are unknown to this day. Breaking ground out of the rich legacy and musician development system Dakar, Senegal, producer Ibra Kasseì created, the origins of Ibra’s movement begins in the late ’50s when fusion music around the world was beginning to stretch outside of sketch forms. Cuban styles of son montuno and patchanga were infused with local folk traditions and modern instrumentation of each successive generation, producing a hybrid of West African and Caribbean music that is intoxicating and hypnotic in every rhythm, harmony and overtone. Senegal was buzzing with new creativity through the ’60s and beyond, met with an array of highly advanced musicians and visionaries. Nightlife music for those that wanted something beyond the radio hits and presented with a passionate essence that connected many people in the region of the time.

Amara Toure was brought up in a progressive movement unlike any other and by the time he was able to head his own groups and record his own content from the experience he gained networking with Ibra Kassei, African music had finally hit a global scale. When you open up the lid on the musicians who never made it outside of the regions known for strong music activity, an overwhelming list of artists come up and there is no question that Amara Toure ranks amongst the top of these creators. Originally from Guinea-Conakry, Amara Toure remained underground and raw during his tenure producing records, creating some of the most earth-shattering grooves and harmonies from any West African artist ever. To have his works in one album from the exceptional team at Analog Africa is a dream come true, updating pre-existing copies of originals that run in the triple digit numbers amongst hardcore collectors and doing a great job at preserving the analog warmth of the originals. The singles material was recorded in Cameroon while the 1980 content was done in Libreville, Gabon. Absolutely breathtaking guitar, percussion and horn heavy music that is timeless without question. For the vinyl junkies, this one has been pressed on deluxe gatefold double LP as a 140-gram vinyl and is presented in four-color screenprinted covers and also comes with a screenprinted poster. Limited edition to 1,500 copies, so order now if you want to secure a vinyl copy as these will surely run out quickly. Analog Africa does various reprints on back catalog titles out of print but these are never announced ahead of time. One can only hope they will run multiple campaigns for these prints as this music is too good for words.

Set for release on 21st November, ‘Free Flow’ is the new album by UK-based electronic artist Inwards, the project of musician Kristian Shelley. Drawing inspiration from flow states - those moments of full creative absorption where time seems to slow and action becomes effortless - the album explores what it means to be “in the moment.”

From his first releases, Inwards has delighted both fans and critics with unshakable melodies and playful productions that draw from modular synths, found sounds, and myriad electronic and acoustic instruments. Coverage from the likes of Resident Advisor (“Otherworldly electronic music”), Electronic Sound (“Engulfing and reassuring”), MOJO (“Warm hearted modular synth contemplations”), Clash (“Pivots between machine precision and human expression”), and DMY (“Blissful and mesmerizing electronic music”) has matched daytime and specialist play on BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 1, Radio X, BBC Introducing, and the likes of KCRW and NPR. As well as playing immersive live AV headline shows, Inwards has supported Lapalux, Forest Swords, Tyondi Braxton and Ulrich Shnauss.

‘Free Flow’ was dictated by mood and movement, built primarily from instinctive live improvisations on hardware synthesisers and samplers. It trusts repetition, invites looseness, and honours mistakes. Patterns evolve slowly, rhythms drift in and out of focus, and melodies surface like memories before dissolving again. The album opens space for breath, for reflection, getting lost.



Recorded in and around the wooded Worcestershire landscape where Inwards lives and works, natural textures - wind, insects, distant birdsong - weave subtly into the music, grounding the electronics in place and atmosphere. The forest isn’t just a backdrop; it’s part of the record’s nervous system.

Each track captures a moment of internal stillness or external motion. There’s a rawness to it, not “unfinished”, but intentionally unpolished. Like the flow state itself, it resists overthinking.

Ultimately, ‘Free Flow’ is less about composition than it is about capturing presence. It’s music for walking, for focusing, for daydreaming, for tuning in…and out. A sonic reflection of that liminal space between control and surrender, between structure and drift. Between what you're doing, and what’s doing you. It’s not music that demands attention - it invites it. And in return, it offers a quiet kind of clarity.

MUITO KABALLA is a one-man-band artist and multi-instrumentalist from Cologne / Germany and the latest signing to Switchstance Recordings. By playing all instruments (drums, bongo, bass, guitar, keys, flute, sax and trumpet) himself and layering them with a loop station MUITO KABALLA creates an infectious groove full of Afrobeat, Funk and Jazz.

In the beginning of 2017 he began street performances in Cologne and soon other cities in Germany and Austria followed. With his project, called Guerilla Soundbombing, he took his music right to the street, wherever and whenever he wanted. He soon gained recognition for that and also started to play gigs and concerts. In his music he pushes the boundaries between different genres but somehow always returns to that groovy Funk and Afrobeat feeling that feels like home to him.

In 2018 he recorded his first album EVERYTHING IS BROKE that will be released on Switchstance Recordings on the 10th of May, 2019.

The Remix of LUGAR AO SOL was produced by Afrikan Roots, an Afro House live band from South Africa, who just signed to Switchstance Recordings for their upcoming KORA EP and a full album.

"Switchstance" is taken from the culture of boardsports, meaning the skill used to change the stance (easily) by switching one's foot position. The stance in freestyle Snowboarding or Skateboarding, is either riding in "regular" (left foot forward) or "goofy" (right foot forward) position. This identifies a really skilled rider and opens up a whole new world of trick combinations.

The label's creed and therefore the style of its producers and DJs is to have ultimate freedom, whether in their musical movements or in "switching" between various styles. The aim of the label is to combine early musical influences such as Funk, Jazz, Latin, 90´s Hip Hop and Reggae with the most progressive techniques of electronic music production in order to create a new dynamic sound that pays respect to the diverse cultures it comes from. It is the soundtrack of the lives of artists that dedicate their time and energy to produce cutting-edge grooves for a conscious and openminded generation.

Inspired by the label members' and friends' lifestyles in music, boardsports, arts and travels; the sound of Switchstance is always in motion and reflects a unique vision and attitude towards modern life.
