During this month's show we showcase the jungle stalwart label that is Repertoire. 

Since its inception in 2009, Repertoire has developed into the poster child of how to run a modern music label.  Strict quality control allows a strong release schedule of the most upfront and forward thinking jungle music around. championing some of the biggest producers in the scene. 

Coupled with their Streetlight series - where they provide a platform on the label for unheard and upcoming artists, our show is dedicated to everything we love about this music and the people involved in it.

Recently i played the warm up set for Repertoire at their Discworld takeover. I spent ages picking the tunes out to avoid lugging millions of records around. This is a selection from what i took down there.

The first 4 or 5 tunes match what i played on the day but i couldn't remember the exact track list so went off piste from there.

Robots. If you like them, you're probably gonna love this. 
This one started out purely as a vehicle for the guilty pleasure that is Robostep VIP, then evolved into a mix of D&B, jungle, techstep and autonomic/halftime (the latter being most refreshing). Been walking around Bristol this week with this in my ears like I'm some fucking cyborg in a dystopian metropolis, lol. Enjoy :)

Leipzig based selector mR_BLACk, with more than 20 years of experience behind the decks, is certain to deliver the deepest and darkest sounds in the field of underground electronic music.
Not particularly pinned to a specific genre or tempo, he has produced countless mixes for his online audiences that show off versatility but at the same time consistency in his sound aesthetic.

Today on 0860.fm we have Dextrous. A proper goosebumps one for me this - his Jungle tracks in the early 90s were always some of my faves. Including Kings Of The Jungle, Selector Roll and Time To Move. 

We talk about how Pirate Radio gave him insight and exposure to Rare Groove, a genre that he took influence from to create his Jungle tracks that would then go on to get rinsed on Pirate Radio and influence younger generations such as myself. We discuss his relationship with communities from Kool FM, to Music House, through to his work on the documusical ‘Feltham Sings’ in 2003 for which he won the prestigious Ivor Novello award. 

0860 is an album, mixtape, radio station and interview series that explores the history and legacy of Pirate Radio and its importance in the development of UK underground music.
