I am stringing
a plain-wood bow

Kyorai was a Japanese haiku poet who first trained as a martial artist before he started writing and became one of Basho’s first disciples.

This is one of Kyorai's most famous poem, and one that Natsume Sōseki used as an example of great haiku poetry when teaching at a high school in Kumamoto.

Um uns und in uns gibt es Geheimnisse. Denn das Leben ist selbst ist das größte Geheimnis. 
Im Grunde genommen suchen wir selbst stets nach dem Mysterium der Wahrheit.
Wir sind die Reisenden durch den Nebel vergangener Leben und Zeiten. 
Auf der Suche nach der Wahrheit, lassen wir unsere innere Wahrheit außer Acht. 
Eigentlich ist dies das größte Geheimnis was wir ergründen sollten.

Basically, we ourselves are always searching for the mystery of truth.
We are the travelers through the mists of past lives and times.
In search of the truth, we ignore our inner truth.
Actually, this is the greatest secret that we should explore.
