Today is Tanabata in Japan. Tanabata is a traditional Japanese festival celebrated every year on July 7th. This festival originates from the Chinese 'Tanabata legend,' in which Orihime and Hikoboshi (known as Vega and Altair in Japanese) cross the Milky Way to reunite once a year.
