Music can be so vast! Wow! Two tiny earpods and the whole world can open up for you - an endless plain of galvanised desert, populated by Jovian voices and characters of the subconscious. Shell Tape 78 is case in point; Boorloo DJs Priest & Insomijah lay bare a post-industrial extraterrestrial soundworld on “Songs To Chase Bares To”.

This world building takes the form of an hour twenty of looping, percussive and slow burning (but not slow!) future facing techno. It’s the OST to Tron with a bit more dirt and spooky levels of psychedelia rubbed into it, rolling on to the ends of time. Is Priest the immovable object colliding with Insominjah’s unstoppable force? You’ll have to lock on to Shell Tape 78 to find out - possibly losing yourself in the process.
