And... well that's a personnal opinion, but I kinda like the P6 as Korg delivered it! A mellow character.  In any case, your work is amazing and it's great to have options and to understand the beast better.  Bravo!  Now what I'm wondering is if we could have some sort of mod that would allow us to mix at will in real-time (i.e. with a pot or a multi-position switch) between the 2 variants (bright and muffled).  I imagine it could go along the route of changing how quickly the VCF kicks in...  But how would we do that??

The Polysix has a VCF following its Effects section.  The purpose appears to be to reduce the apparent noise of the synth.  A major side-effect is some high-frequency attenuation and a slower attack.  This clip illustrates the sound of: (1) the stock Polysix, (2) defeating the VCF by driving Q14 with +15V, and (3) removing the VCF entirely.
