The Polysix has a VCF following its Effects section.  The purpose appears to be to reduce the apparent noise of the synth.  A major side-effect is some high-frequency attenuation and a slower attack. The Korg Polysix has an LFO ("MG") that I set to affect the VCF.  The Polysix has a "Delay" that can be used to prevent the LFO from affecting the start of each note.  Here my "Delay" is set to zero, but you can still hear that the onset of each note is sweeping in to get itself to the LFO's value. The Korg Polysix has an LFO ("MG") that I set to affect the VCF. The Polysix has a "Delay" that can be used to prevent the LFO from affecting the start of each note. Previously, even at a "Delay" of zero, the MG was suppressed at the beginning of each note.  Here, I've swapped out the default R98 (4.7K) for a 10K resistor.  Now, instead of the unexpected transient at the beginning of each note, I get a smooth transition from note to note.  Exactly what I wanted!  Settings: MG Freq = 2, Delay = 0, Amount = 6, VCF Cutoff = 5, Resonance = 0, EG Intensity = 0, KBD Track = 0.

Here is a comparison of my Korg Polysix with the stock C61 capacitor and with the C61 capacitor bypassed.  I am playing the lowest "C" on the keyboard.  VCF is at "5". Another example from my Korg Polysix where I compare the unmodified Polysix (with C61) to my modified Polysix (C61 is bypassed).  By removing C61, the bass extends deeper. The Korg Polysix has a built-in treble boost on the KLM-368 Effects PCB that was added to overcome treble losses in other parts of the circuit.  My previous modifications removed those treble losses, so my Polysix has a bit too much "sizzle".  Here, I alter the effective resistance around R168 to flatten the built-in treble boost. Dandelion Visions

Audio played back from a tape loop that I recorded on my Portastudio 424.  The erase head was enabled (as is normal).  The loop is about 5 seconds long.  The loop is played 3 times here.  Notice the gap at the end of each loop due to the physical separation of the erase head and the record head.
