Marcus Ezra is an electronic music producer/sound designer from Nairobi, Kenya. Marcus gained a keen interest in music at an early age and has been mastering and polishing his technique and sound over many years. He has varied interests in genres that span House, Nu-Disco, Drum and Bass as well as Sound Design for Film & TV

Marcus has always had a fascination with everything out of the norm and this was the same with music. In 1997 he got introduced to various genres of electronic music through the odd track on local radio and later mix CDs he acquired from friends living abroad. He soon became an avid listener.
Marcus got into production in 2002. With the desire to learn the intricacies of electronic music production, it quickly became a favorite hobby. Marcus also had eclectic tastes in music - He was the guy listening to soul/funk, house, 80s music and all sorts of electronic music in contrast to the more contemporary music in his local music scene.

Over the years he taught himself music theory and music production techniques which he quickly picked up and applied to his projects. Marcus has developed to become a pioneer of House & Drum and Bass in his local music scene and is one of the few African dance music producers who've had their records signed to International labels. 2013 saw him get his critically acclaimed  debut record signed to German drum and bass label, Soul Bros. 2014 also saw him release on the well know Brazilian label DNBB Recordings Marcus has also been resident DJ on various international radio shows such as German Cuebase FM and more recently held a 2hr spot on UK radio station, FSR Radio.

Though its DNA touches on classic soul, rock, disco, and acid house, London-based producer and DJ Marcus Marr makes music for today. Marr’s work - released through DFA Records, Detail and New Finger Records - has been championed by Annie Mac, BBC Radio One, Pitchfork, SPIN, Clash Magazine and The Fader.

A regular at Berlin’s famed nightclub Berghain/Panorama Bar since 2014, Marcus Marr recently released the Familiar Five EP and performed a string of co-headline dates in North America with The Juan Maclean. He has previously appeared with the likes of Hot Chip, Floating Points, The Black Madonna and Optimo, and has performed at the highly-regarded MoMa PS1 Warm Up series, Day For Night Festival, and Art Basel Miami. Marcus has also contributed mixes to Beats in Space and Boiler Room

Founded in 2013 by Producer/DJ Saint Evo inter alia, CDR acknowledges that music is an essential part of human life and that it is the greatest creation of human beings, which touches the soul and that also helps humans to sympathetically manifest unspoken desire and humanity in them. We are of the view that music is intrinsic to our essential nature, continues to affect our well-being and mould our world view.

In that vein, CDR is a place where one can find House music that is fecund with core energies of producers and artists from Soulful House, Deep House and Afro House. We can comfortably pose that, CDR is the home of good House music.
