Has been a while since I've done a remix but this one flowed pretty quick until I had a hard drive failure and nearly lost most of it! managed to recover it in the end though and enjoyed trying out some ideas with basslines, playing with the samples and creating a breakdown inspired by the vocal. Press release - 

Ordinarily, Parallel Dimensions are not technically Parallel Universes. The concepts are similar but there are significant differences. Where characters travel to dimensions, they may cause changes in the timeline (creating a point of divergence) that result in changes to the present. The alternative present will be similar in different degrees to the original present as would be the case with a parallel universe. The main difference is that parallel universes co-exist whereas only one history or alternative history can exist at any one moment. Another difference is that moving to a parallel universe involves some inter-dimensional travel whereas alternative histories involve some type of time travel. (However, since the future is only potential and not actual, it is often conceived that more than one future may exist simultaneously.)

Ridiculoud celebrates its 20th release with a slammin' psybreaks package courtesy of fresh talent AP3X. 'Power Struggle' is a deep, techy, psy-infused breaks chugger that just builds and builds with strategically placed vocal snippets and spacey stabs. On the flipside, Retroid takes the psy elements from the original and cranks out a massive remix full of driving sequences, a fierce bassline, and wicked effects for peak-time mayhem!

Dear Friends, I'm totally psyched to be sharing this mix with you.  In the last year I've been (almost) all over the world performing, introducing people to this sound. The response has been overwhelming, and it seems like every new gig I travel to now has an even more electric atmosphere than the last. I've always been highly selective of the music I play, in an effort to define something new and distinct, and I feel now that this style is getting the recognition it deserves. 

So it's not often I do a mix, and this time I really wanted to showcase the state of the art of psychedelic tech-funk. Grizmatik - Digital Liberation Is Mad Freedom

By now you will have heard me raving on about Grouch on facebook. For me, and many others, he is one of the true masters of psychedelic music, and a hugely inspiring character! I got to spend a couple of days with him when I was in Australia earlier this year, and we played around on our laptops, producing as many cool sounds as we could in the time we had. After this, we went home and each produced a track using those sounds as the basis. This is my version, and it will be coming out on Broken Robot in December 2012. Grouch's version will be coming out sometime in 2013, i'll keep you posted!
