In the wake of renewed activity on the
WASSERMANN front, Wolfgang Voigt’s legendary
fringe rave alter ego, we’re thrilled to introduce a
new generation of listeners to his game-changing
cut W.I.R. – the vocoder-fuelled banger was a
massive crossover hit in 2000, bringing the
idiosyncratic underground sounds emanating
from a young scene of Cologne producers and
DJs who rallied under the Kompakt banner to a
wider audience. It sounded like nothing else on
the dance floors at the time and paved Kompakt’s
way into the spotlight. First released on Voigt’s
experimental techno label Profan, the track hasn’t
lost a quota of its futuristic and fresh appeal to
this day – it’s every bit as timeless as the remixes
from German DJ icon SVEN VÄTH and Kompakt
power duo TOBIAS THOMAS & MICHAEL MAYER
which dropped shortly after the release of the
original. Find all of these plus a new FARBEN
REMIX of FACKELN IM STURM by Wolfgang Voigt
in one barnstorming package, remastered to
perfection and available as digital download for
the first time ever. Furthermore, an updated 2016
rework of W.I.R. will be released together with the
DJ KOZE remix of Wassermann's DIE
SCHALLPLATTE on a bonus 10" accompanying
the upcoming limited edition of TOTAL 16 - not to

Im Zuge erneuter Aktivität an der WASSERMANNFront,
Wolfgang Voigts legendäres Alternativ-
Rave-Projekt, ist es an der Zeit, eine neue
Generation an Hörern mit seinem
bahnbrechenden Track W.I.R. vertraut zu machen
- der Vocoder-geschwängerte Schieber geriet
2000 zu einem massiven Crossover-Hit und
gewann neues Publikum für die
idiosynkratischen Underground-Klänge einer
jungen Kölner Szene an Produzenten und DJs,
die sich unter dem Kompakt-Banner
versammelten. Es klang wie nichts anderes auf
den damaligen Tanzfluren und bereitete
Kompakts Weg ins Rampenlicht vor.
Ursprünglich auf Voigts experimentellem
Technolabel Profan veröffentlicht, hat der Track
kein bisschen an Frische und futuristischer
Anziehungskraft verloren - er ist genauso zeitlos
wie die Remixe der deutschen DJ-Ikone SVEN
VÄTH und des Kompakt'schen Power-Duos
TOBIAS THOMAS & MICHAEL MEYER, welche
seinerzeit kurz nach dem Original veröffentlicht
wurden. Diese drei Zeitzeugen plus Wolfgang

The album also features some high profile remixes by Steve and Miquette including Sudo’s 'Sensation (System 7 remix)’  and Joujouka’s ‘And Justice Killed  (System 7 remix)’ and a Mirror System remix of Six Degrees Records artists The Delia Derbyshire Appreciation Society on ‘Cloudface’.

X-Port - the latest album release of System 7 - presenting a unique combination of techno and trance beats and live musicianship. On October 16th 2015 A-Wave Records simultaneously released the full power System 7 X-Port album and the more chilled Mirror System album titled N-Port. SYSTEM 7's previous release - the Passion EP - really hits the spot, showing that in 2013 they remain on top of their game with their unique blend of trance and techno.

The most recent full System 7 album UP (released May 2011) tips the balance a bit in a more techno and tech house direction, still showcasing the unique System 7 sound with ultra modern production and a feeling of positivity. The album was inspired by time spent in Berlin. The club single, taken from UP, is PositiveNoise, a collaboration with Berlin-based A Guy Called Gerald, and features a new deep techno remix from Carl Craig and a powerful remix from Japanese techno star A.Mochi. PositiveNoise also has great new Japanese animation video clip

SYSTEM 7’s Steve Hillage and Miquette Giraudy have had a strong influence on the birth of psychedelic dance music and it’s journey up to the present, forging a unique and bang up-to-date identity on the genre map, in a space where techno, progressive and trance meet – with a healthy side-element of unique quality ambient chill which is connected and reflected in their sister project Mirror System. 

Since the beginning of the 90s System 7 projects have been marked by a series of high powered collaborations, working with Detroit luminaries Derrick May and Carl Craig, Laurent Garnier, The Orb, Jam El Mar, Son Kite among others. System 7’s club singles have had outstanding remixes from the likes of Plastikman, James Holden and Dubfire, whose mix of Space Bird was number one on Beatport’s main chart for 2 weeks in 2008.
