Systematic Recordings' Lost Treasures series returns with its seventh instalment, uncovering and refreshing yet another House Classic from the vaults of time.
The Ltd 10” series, launched by label boss Marc Romboy, sees him hunting the soundtracks to many of his personal party memories. With the originals being fully remastered, each is also accompanied by new, and most importantly respectful, remixes from some of today’s finest producers.
Terence Parker's 'Love's Got Me High', Urban Soul's 'Alright' and Mike Dunn meets Victor Simonelli & Luis Radio's 'Nothing Stays The Same' have all previously featured, and Simonelli makes a return for 10" number seven with a 1993 collab with Z.A.M.
Originally released on Playtime Records, the trickling stream, powerful vocal and emotive piano line of 'Africa Freedom' stirred and lifted the dancefloors of the world. At a time when the great Nelson Mandela was winning his run for Presidency of South Africa, the track perfectly encapsulated the surge of global positivity.
Accompanying the original Johannesburg Dub, Acapella and Beats is our 2016 remix from Argy. Big, bold andurgent, his rework is a perfect big room alternative to the sweet summer vibes of the original.
