The second Expedition Community VA compilation is finally here. The name of the compilation is "CONTRAST".

One of the standout features of this compilation is its incredible diversity. It spans across genres like electronic, house, techno, trance, electro, breakbeat and ambient.
Each track is a new chapter in the story, with its own unique characters and plot twists.
Twenty-three talented producers with twenty-four tracks.
Two things that surely connect them are unstoppable passion for music and the aim to support Ukraine.
Each amount received from sales will go to help people affected by the war, but also to support the Ukrainian army.
Big thanks to every musician for the great tracks.

"Oleksiy Borysko, the grandson of Oleksiy Semenovych Borysko. Ukranian who was born in Kazakhstan following soviet deportation, Ukrainian whose grandfather with his associates worked on the land and founded a city following their hard work, Ukrainian repressed back to Ukraine, Ukrainian whose father was killed as a public enemy, Ukrainian who became a pioneer of anesthesiology and pulmonology in Khmelnytskyi region.

In the 90ies, my father was earning his living selling and duplicating records smuggled in Ukraine, playing them all around the region during student parties. From early childhood, I remember myself being surrounded by tape recorders, amplifiers, and speakers. It definitely influenced my love for music and vinyl.

I was raised in Khmelnytskyi and started blasting some sounds in college. Moved to the Netherlands in 2005, where the first gigs in Europe happened. 2008 I moved back to UA to start a techno promo with my friends. In 2015, I moved back to Europe (France), where my interest in funk and disco started happening. Since 2020 actively promoting the DBS project (Disco-Borisco Soundsystem). Getting in touch with local web radio in Strasbourg helped me create my radio show, “Blind Choice” (moved to Gasolineradio.com). Playing sometimes in the local bar La Kulture makes me sweat and gives me this amazing off-the-roof feeling.

This episode is exclusively curated by Montronique, a resident of Livity Sound, who has prepared a selection showcasing the depth and diversity of the label's offerings.

Livity Sound, inspired by the Rastafarian concept of life-force, was established in 2011 by dubstep pioneer Peverelist. While rooted in UK Garage, the label has explored modern dub and fluxwork, shaping modern bass music genres and nurturing artists in traditional styles. Dnuos Ytivil, its darker twin, offers a collection of heavier, more experimental urban bass music.
