Chile is in revolution for a better country and a better world. 

Hello, I am Kjartan I sell violins. Also I play violin, viola, bass, sing and compose Carpathian and Balkan inspired folkpop. Szkojani Charlatans is my project, originating in Budapest; featuring musicians from Turkey, Hungary, UK, Sweden, Mexico, France, Germany, Switzerland, US, Canada, Poland, Italy. Playing Accordion, Violin, 3 string Viola, Double Bass, Guitaron, Darbuka, Drum Kit, Clarinet, Saxaphone, Guitar. Currently we are on way to California 2019.

I left Kalamazoo, MI, USA for Budapest, HU six years ago. Inspired by the traveler, train hoping, old time music scene of New Orleans, I began earn my living playing swing and European folk music on the streets and pubs of Budapest. 

After a year Szkojáni Charlatans was born. I met in Budapest with accordionist Johannes Olsson, from Sweden. We recorded our first album "Skogen" in Budapest, and made a music video in November of 2012 and set of for our first tour of the USA. We bought a car and traveled from Michigan to New York, to New Orleans. After our tour we returned to Hungary in March but we were unable to stop touring. After two months in Budapest, we left May to August 2013 for tour of West Europe. We recorded our second album "Elixir" in Sweden and made a tour NY to New Orleans to Portland in a bread truck. We returned to Europe March 2014, Johannes wanted a break from traveling. So we broke up and I moved to Istanbul. Summer 2014 in Istanbul and Bulgaria I met with many musicians and Szkojani Charlatans became a 5 musicians: violin, bracs, bass, clarinet, and darbuka. We began to play more Bulgarian and Turkish music. We made our way up to west Europe, and recorded our third album "The Last Drop" and a live concert in Brussels. November 2014 we jumped the pond and drove from Portland to Mexico. Winter 2014-15 was there was no snow in Mexico. Returning to Europe March 2015 we decided to part ways and I was again a solo musician. August 2015 I met Bito Janos in a Hungarian Folk music camp in Transylvania. From September 2015 we toured from Romania to Switzerland to Belgium. October, we flew to Miami, Florida bought a mini bus spent 3 months in USA, and 3 months in Mexico. We met with Perla Villalba in San Cristobal and she decided to come back to Europe for summer 2016 where we toured Switzerland, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Hungary and Serbia together.
