Como Se DJ, the moniker of NYC-based Paul Ashkenas, draws influence from the intensity of classic Rave sounds to create a deeply engrossing and atmospheric mix. As we offset the impending sunset of summer ‘22, this ethereal, vocal-heavy trance mix is one last call to savour the taste of summer’s hedonism.

005 - COMO SE DJ

We were very excited to host Exist Palestine, who hold their first-ever Berlin event at Oona Bar, Weserstr. 166 on Saturday, August 20th.

Exist is a festival and event series founded in Palestine, with the aim of building bridges between artists, musicians, DJs and curators from Palestine and across the globe. Its broad, transnational family are united in a desire to use art to impact their environments in critical ways, and through their engagement with anti-colonialism in the context of Palestine and beyond.

Exist Festival’s event at Refuge Worldwide will include DJ sets by Exist extended family members Ciarra Black, Dirar Kalash, Falyakon, Kujo, Oldyungmayn, Sainte Marina, No Plastic and the festival's co-founders Odai Masri and Bint Mbareh. 

There will also be two installations on-site at Oona: an audiovisual installation by Sarah Risheq titled if_the_archive_could_speak, exploring Palestinian physical and mental archives; and a sound piece by Dirar Kalash called To Exist In Sound, which draws from audio recordings of the 1948 Nakba and 1967 Naksa.

Lisa Tsunami oscillates between breaks and electro, bringing along with her abysmal visions and enchanting reflections. She is also the head of label Tsunami Records, as well as an organizer and resident of the iconic Tsunami nights.

Mika Oki is a visual artist, Dj and producer born in Paris.

With a background in sculpture and electro-acoustic music, she explores the notion of intangible spaces and emotional landscapes through AV installations, music and mixes.

As a DJ, Mika Oki knows how to surprise the dance floor with a selection ranging from jungle, uk bass and gqom to dark electro, mesmerising trance and heavy EBM. By animating a wide range of voice samples, experimental sounds and electroacoustic music extracts, she plays like a sculptor with a duty to create an unsettling atmosphere.
