Above & Beyond link up with Anjunabeats favourite Mat Zo, on their new collaborative single ‘Always Do’.

An ID from last summer's Group Therapy 450 celebration in London, ‘Always Do’ is a warehouse-ready blend of sounds from Above & Beyond and Mat Zo, complete with distorted vocals and acid-laden basslines. This is not the first time that Above & Beyond and Mat Zo have creatively crossed paths: Mat previously remixed A&B and Richard Bedford’s ‘Thing Called Love’ back in 2012.

‘Always Do’ kicks off Above & Beyond's busy musical schedule for 2022. It was road-tested extensively on the trio’s Anjunafamily Reunion Tour in autumn 2021, which visited all corners of North America, including a pair of sold-out nights at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

In December 2021, Above & Beyond were invited to perform an intimate, livestream DJ set at Piedra del Peñol in Guatape, Colombia for French YouTube sensation Cercle. The replay of their set has been watched nearly three million times on YouTube.

Mat Zo broke onto the scene in 2008 and has been causing an uproar ever since. In the early noughties, he penned Anjunabeats classics like ‘The Lost’ and ‘Synapse Dynamics’ which were far ahead of their time. They were followed by the likes of ‘Superman’, ‘The Sky’, and ‘Rebound’ (with ARTY). He pushed the Anjunabeats sound to the mainstage, racking up spins from Pete Tong, Axwell, and Armin van Buuren. His latest studio album, ‘Illusion of Depth’, was released on the label in October 2020.

Mat joins Anjunabeats at their upcoming label shows in London and Miami. Plus, he’ll be at The Gorge for Group Therapy Weekender 2022 in July, alongside fellow label stars Andrew Bayer, Genix, Oliver Smith, Trance Wax and more. Feels incredible to be releasing my Debut Album, it's been such a long process and such a long challenge it kind of felt like this day would never come, but it did.

Conceptually the album is about romanticizing a naive world view. That naiveness and ignorance is something to be cherished. There's something really beautiful about the perfect worldview you have as a kid, that the world is harmless, beautiful and good. The more you learn and experience though the more you realise everything isn't perfect. So the less you know the more beautiful it is, it's the things we haven't done, the places we don't know, that have this unquestionable beauty to it. it's this world i'm trying to mirror with my album, the one that stays in your imagination.

Musically i knew i wanted to do a sonic representation of the concept, blending worldly sounds with small bedroom type samples and soundscapes. I really loved the idea of those two polarizing things being the two main factors that would lay the ground for the album.

Terminal Caribe is the newest album of Santi & Tuğçe who weave timeless, borderless melodies with global, dance floor rhythms. Similar to their previous releases which take listeners on a sonic adventure all the way from the coasts of the Black Sea to the Parana River, Terminal Caribe presents a peculiarly personal, yet undoubtedly universal odyssey exploring the deep interrelations between music, movement, and memory. Named after a bus stop where the duo had the initial inkling for this album, Terminal Caribe serves as the point of departure for an entrancing journey through a wildly varied world of sound. Soulful melodies, captivating harmonies, colorful orchestration, polyrhyhmic percussions and marimbas, and deep bass lines combine with heartwarming vocals and the sounds of sea to tell a tale that is at once epic, melancholic, spacy and irresistibly groovy. 

Santi (from Asunción, Paraguay) and Tuğçe (from Istanbul, Turkey) left their homes to follow their dreams of music and have been road companions and musical partners for more than a decade. They collaborated on two full length-albums, four EPs and numerous singles which captivated listeners worldwide. With their 2016 EP El Regreso del Gallito, “Santi & Tuğçe rewrote Paraguayan folklore” (Thump Vice, Brazil) and with their Songs for My Grandmother, selected as one of the best albums from Turkey in 2017 by Beehype, they remade Turkish classics for contemporary audiences. Drawing on their eclectic background and constant pulse for innovation, Santi & Tuğçe once again reinvent an unpredictable and enticing soundscape of the Caribbean and beyond.

Ein wilder Trip durch Tag und Nacht – und einmal quer durch unsere 10-jährige Geschichte. Mit alten und neuen Gefährten. So bunt wie unser Festival selbst: von Four-to-the-Floor-Krachern über Dubstep und Downbeat bis hin zu Sprachsample-Spaß. This record took a while to be finished but we're glad to finally release this beautiful EP from Matthew. The title track ‚Heimreise‘ has already been around a few years ago but never got to be released officially due to the vocal sample. After speaking to Matthew he sent us the track and we used it in our Cercle set last year which gave the track a second life and lots of people were asking for an official release. After lengthy negotiations the sample could be cleared and licensed and we finally finished the EP. We worked on a remix for ‚Heimreise' what turned out to be quite a challenge but after all we could wrap it up right before deadline and the whole record was ultimately done and set to release.

These two originals need no big introduction or explanation. ‚Heimreise' and 'Random Dub Fix' are wonderful displays of Matthews Dekay’s ability to create such hypnotic grooves that almost put you in a state of meditation. We still have so much fun playing these out that we really think this is a timeless piece of music. Thank you all for the patience, we’re happy that ‚Heimreise' found its forever home with Siamese.

First track "I Feel You" it's a Progressive House song that expresses the happiness that comes from feeling the kicks of his child in the womb and second tune it is called "Heart Beat" with a background created by the sound of the child's heart, forceful bass drum and a melody that envelops you in a journey that will make you dance.

Unserer Meinung nach, ist es ein überwältigendes, musikalisches Kunstwerk, welches unsere Crew in Atem gehalten und dazu bewegt hat, wirklich und ernsthaft inne zu halten.

Die Kommunikation zwischen Rolandson und uns war so ausgedehnt und intim, dass es auf der Hand liegt, hier als Beschreibung sinngemäße, originale Auszüge und Begriffe aus unserem Schriftverkehr einzubringen:
