Starts dark and fast, before sunrise.  blooms into some of my favorite melodic psytrance of the past year or so. United Beats Records‘s series next edition will be performed by label founder MAD MAXX.

Max Peterson has been performing and releasing his unique brand of trance music under various project names since 1998. Max was born in San Diego, California in 1979, and spent most of his teenage years in France. He then developed his production and performance skills in California, Mexico, Spain, and every part of the planet with a vibrant trance scene.
Max’s passion for music began at a young age. Max’s father Gary Peterson is a highly accomplished composer, guitarist, and keyboard player. Gary was a member of influential 60’s-70’s cult band “Formerly Fat Harry”. His band played next to legends such as Pink Floyd, Roy Harper, Third ear band, King Crimson, Fleetwood mac, to name a few… Max’s first tracks were recorded and produced by Gary when Max was just 14 years old.

Upon moving to the U.S., Maxx joined the pioneering trance music collective and record store – The Ion Exchange in Santa Cruz – as co-owner and resident DJ. Maxx moved onto DJ’ing in San Francisco, playing for all the Bay Area’s trance venues including the trance collective CCC. He also performed at all the underground warehouse and outdoor events in Northern California. Max quickly gained respect for his stomping deep psychedelic sets. At this time he also toured Canada and other cities in the USA.

In 2000, Max formed the seminal San Francisco trance project BIODEGRADABLE with Samy Guediche of CPU, and Nicolas Oesch of Mekkanikka. In 2001, they released their album Phaser which received great success at the time in the psychedelic scene and became a springboard for all members to launch their successful solo projects.

In 2001, Max joined up with Davina Elmosnino and formed the trance project Sirius Isness. Sirius Isness went on to release more than 150 tracks on prestigious trance labels. Sirius releases 3 full length albums “Resolution of Duality, Breaking the Matrix , Trancefusion” and 1 compilation. The first album was released on Moon Spirits records in 2004, the second on Mind Control Records in 2005, and the third was released in 2006 on Phantasm records, accompanied by their compilation, Mind Your Own Isness. Sirius Isness has traveled to almost every country where trance parties happen. Their most popular destinations are Japan, Brazil, Mexico, Portugal, Greece, Australia to name a few.

Max, then started in his solo project in 2007- MAD MAXX- the result of years of hard work, perfecting a unique sound, embodying all the travels, experiences and parties of the past 20 years. The music is a mix of trance, ethnic and deep sounds, with a strong kick and ominous bass line, an electro touch, emotional chants, and at times nostalgic atmospheres, with a BPM ranging from 138 to 145 in general. All of this sonic mayhem delivered in a whirlwind of psychedelia of course….

MAD MAXX has been delivering his live set to all trance freaks in the world on a weekly basis, and has collaborated with numerous artists…including JOHN 00 FLEMING, SKAZI, PIXEL, AVALON, SONIC SPECIES, STRYKER, BLOCK DEVICE, MENOG, TRISTAN, SPACE TRIBE, GMS, PAINKILLER , POLI, XSI, S-RANGE, VOYAGER (aka Altom), BIO-GENESIS, AUDIO X, BIONIX, MEKKANIKKA , DIGITAL TALK, JOHN PHANTASM and more…

The first MAD MAXX album “AFTERWORLD”, was released May 2008 on PHANTASM records. The second MAD MAXX album was released in June 2011 on his label, UNITED BEATS RECORDS. MAD MAXX’s 3rd album will be out in fall of 2015 on UNITED BEATS RECORDS….

Tiann is a new generation Slovenian psytrance dj and producer. He has been working with music since highschool days, but after visiting his first psytrance party he became very interested into the psychedelic electronics. One year later, he started dj-ing and very soon became a resident dj in club Mizzart (Metelkova, Ljubljana). In the past few years he has been playing beside projects like Hux Flux, Dissociactive, Psilocybian, Phobos Azazel, Kala, Chromatone, Assioma, Ianuaria, Dharma … In 2012 he also became a member of Forestdelic Records. His sets are colored with groovy bass lines flowing from a deeper, not melodic tunes to the morning, brighter psychedelics.

This new episode of the Purple Hexagon Records series is focused on the first album from one of the best label producer: Insane Creatures‘ ‘Underwater Mysteries’.

600 million years ago the world was very different from the planet we know today, the land was entirely without animals or plants, but the oceans were teaming with life. The majority of our planet lies in a cold, eternal night; a practically unexplored alien world deep under the sea that lies in perpetual darkness.

Very little is known about this world. Such depths are notoriously difficult to study and we have only barely scratched the surface of what lies there. All we know for sure is that the truly deep depths of the world’s oceans offer continual surprises. New species unlike any others known before are routinely discovered here, and indeed new alien biomes in extreme environments that no life had been thought possible.

Angela Flo Llinas a.k.a Gelika/ Insane Creatures/ Tyndra) born in Barcelona in 1987, met psychedelic trance music at the age of 16 and straight away loved the sound of it, in 2005 she started djing Psytrance and then she moved to United Kingdom (London) and started to play in the London Psytrance scene. In 2008 she decided to go deeper and started to study Music production at the London School of Sound and a Music Technology Specialist BA (Hons) in the University of West London.
Now with Insane Creatures, Tyndra & Gelika she is a member of Purple Hexagon Records and Catar Records, where she has released two EP’s, the V.A.’s Quantum Animism 1.0 and 2.0 and a number of extra single releases in different labels around the globe. Angela also has a faster side project under the name of Tyndra, along with her mastering and recording skills. Now she is working on Insane Creatures album for Purple Hexagon Records to be out at the beginning of 2017, a Tyndra album also around 2017, and a number of extra single releases for different record labels around the globe.
Up until now she has performed around the globe in countries such as Mexico, India, Costa Rica, Croatia (Modem Festival), Budapest (Inner Sanctum), Italy (Human Evolution Festival, Blackmoon Festival), Romania (Transylvania Calling), Germany (Psychedelic Circus), Greece, Cyprus, Spain, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, France, Switzerland, Austria, etc.

In this next episode of Profound Records series we can meet FLOATING SPIRIT.

Osvaldo Acosta aka Floating Spirit – FSP, a resident and native of the CDMX starts its adventure in the electronic world in the year 2005 as listening, taking as influences to the House, Techno and Trance, with the passage of time know the Psychedelic Trance and so that in the 2011 decides to create the project in Dj Set called the floating Spirit.

  It is beyond the states of waking, dreaming and dreamless sleep. Those who have witnessed it as an external phenomenon report that the experience appeared to have fallen into a kind of trance. The hair on the head and body stood erect. The half-closed eyes became fixed. Sometimes there was an astonishing loss of weight, or even levitation of the body from the ground. But these are mere symptoms, and tell us nothing. There is only one way to find out what samadhi is like:
