 At first glance most would think a skinny, blue-eyed hipster looking dude in a flannel with obnoxious Nike’s to match, would be in a post-electro indie-band. But this is the 90’s for the third time and one of rap’s most exciting new voices, ECID, is not your average newsstand heartthrob. Minneapolis native Jason Mckenzie, an only child raised by a single-mom, had a lot of time to himself growing up. But he was never bored. Ever. He started writing songs at age 13, released his first “album” before his 18th birthday and hasn’t stopped since. Released earlier this year, Post Euphoria volume 1 brought Ecid’s true charm to the surface with sexier beats and punchlines on steroids (and kush).

 Amidst the chaos of artistic evolution, Post Euphoria 2 exploits the best parts of Volume 1 while preparing us for the upcoming full-length Pheromone Heavy. After spending the first half of the year training to be a yoga instructor Ecid bought a MOOG, stopped quantizing and found a way to make songs with a more human approach. Minimalistic drums and urgent melodies give his percussive vocals and no-fuck’s-given personality room to breathe. “Communication Abuse”, a snarky response to society’s infatuation with their phones and themselves, continues ECID’s agenda to challenge the “pack” mentality. ECID lives and dies by the dream and Post Euphoria 2 is what happens when you finally catch that elusive carrot.

Born, Jose Angel Perez on June 07, 1986, this San Antonio, Texas native started rapping at the age of 12, freestyling over his favorite hip hop songs of the 90's. At the age of 14 he became a DJ/Emcee of Drum and Bass in the Texas Rave Scene from 2000-2005. 
In 2006, Spy made his move to the Twin Cities and put his full focus into Hip Hop, along with 4 others from Texas and then formed the group SF Wrecks. In 2008 SF Wrecks, Mess Crew, Wide Eyes, and a few others formed Death Ray Scientific. Shortly after DRS started up one of the most prominent open mics held at the Legendary DinkyTowner called "Switch" in Minneapolis, MN. On Oct. 31, 2008 DRS released the self titled album, "Death Ray Scientific." In 2009 Spy, Sean Anonymous, and Shelltoe formed the freestyle lyrical powerhouse group known as, Bottom Feeders and on June 26th, 2009 they released their first project, "Low Road" EP. 
Spy has worked alongside and toured with many national artists such as, Freestyle Legend MC Juice, Dave East, Bun B, Paul Wall, Royce Da 5'9, Freestyle Fellowship, Haiku DE'tat, Busdriver, Dumbfoundead, Devin The Dude, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, GZA, Sheek Louch, Agallah, Dead Prez, Geto Boyz, BluePrint, Abstract Rude, Myka 9, Joell Ortiz of Slaughterhouse, the late Eyedea of E&A, the late Cadalack Ron, Qwaazar & Qwel of Typical Cats, Existereo of Shape Shifters, 2Mex of The Visionaries, One Be Lo of Binary Star, Rheteric Ramirez of Project Blowed, and many more.  
He was the General Manager for the Grind Time Now MN Division from June 2009-December 2011. At the end of 2011 Spy along with 3 others created the Minnesota rap battle circuit, Loud Mouth League. In 2012, he moved back to Texas and opened a TX division for LML.
Spy MC's debut solo album "Unfinished Business" produced by MoonDoctoR released on Halloween of 2012 and is available for FREE DOWNLOAD on his bandcamp. He released multiple singles in the coming years from 2013 to now and is gearing up to release 3 projects this year with the 1st project coming out on June 7th, 2019.
