plays a bit of recorder, clarinet, c melody sax, glockenspiel (not very well), melodeon, shaky egg, triangle, accordion (sold it, too much like hard work), and once had piano lessons, guitar lessons, clarinet lessons. Likes Morris, Euro, Dance, Classical, Jazz, Techno, Dance Band era, Baroque, Choral ...and so on.
enjoys playing with other musicians, hopefully better. Always play with better musicians if you can. Makes you sound better. Lots of tracks recorded playing along on garage band with an accordion player.

On Saturday 23rd June 2012, Matthew Clegg ran a writing workshop in Sheffield as part of a programme of events set up by http://occursus.wordpress.com / plastiCities. 'Moving with Thought' was set up to explore the relationship between walking and poetry – between the body, the mind and the landscape. The poems on this site have been written by the workshop participants in response to the walk that the group made through the Kelham Island, Neepsend and Parkwood districts of Sheffield on that day.

The Footing is an anthology of specially commissioned poems on the theme of walking, with contributions from Angelina Ayers, James Caruth, Mark Goodwin, Rob Hindle, Andrew Hirst, Chris Jones and Fay Musselwhite. City, country and coast (and the spaces in between) are the settings for these journeys; here, the act of walking is, by turns, exploratory, destructive, restorative, defiant, contemplative and devotional. The Footing will be published by Longbarrow Press in September 2013.
