One More Time

A fun little thing I've been working on. I took an old poem and read it over a spooky Moog Minitaur bass groove. Analog synth goodness. Update: why use a softsynth emulation of a Rhodes piano when I can use the Korg recreation from the vintage M3R?

One of my tracks made almost entierly on my Moog. 

This is my first offering for the month of noise-vember.  I was exploring just to see what kinds of noisy textures I could create with the Moog Matriarch.  Some of the more "popcorn-like" sounds are just LFOs going through the DC-Coupled mixer and becoming little clicks, and sometimes pinging the filter.  I recorded a lot of various sounds into Reaper and then took to cutting / pasting / moving them around.

Not a musician. Not a therapist. Not a performer.

I shape moods,
not because they are beautiful,
but because they exist.

I take the moment,
fold it like a piece of paper –
audible.
tangible.
I shape it into a frequency
that fits me.

Not perfect.
Not pleasant.
But real.

The heartbeat as bass,
my breath as a pad,
my smile as a subtle glitch.
And within it all –
a Joker.
Laughing inside me,
because I found the tone
in which I can bear myself.

I don’t project outward.
I let the inside become audible.

I am my own space,
my own speaker,
my own echo.

I am a Klangfurtoniker.
I hear myself –
and keep shaping.

Electronic. Rough. Probably still far from finished – but who says you have to start quietly?
I make music for myself. And share it, because silence isn’t always the better choice.
