Las revoluciones francesas y europeas, aquellas que se produjeron en 1789, 1830 y -muy especialmente- las de 1848 sirvieron para afianzar los análisis históricos de Marx y Engels. Para ellos era en la composición material concreta de las revoluciones,y no solo en las fórmulas ideológicas generadas a lo largo del tiempo, donde realmente estaban insertas las posibilidades de cambio.

Estas elaboraciones tuvieron sus mejores ejemplos en sus obras Las luchas de clases en Francia y el Dieciocho Brumario de Luis Bonaparte sus mejores ejemplos. También encontraron en su obra La ideología alemana y en frases como “Los filósofos no han hecho más que interpretar de diversos modos el mundo, pero de lo que se trata es de transformarlo” de sus Tesis sobre Feuerbach un perfecto reflejo.

En esta sesión analizaremos qué significa la historia en Marx y Engels, qué es o puede significar hoy el materialismo histórico.
