Berlin based producer, Elias Dore, is an artist of many flavors.  Through the years Elias has performed in various bands and played many genres- including Afro-funk in Dakar, Gispy in London, Reggae, Soul in Berlin, and many more.  Elias recently released 'Heridas' on XYZ featuring stellar vocalist Stella Moya.  We are more than happy to welcome Elias Dore for his Selectors Series debut.

XYZ Selectors 097 - Elias Dore

Admittedly, it's not the best thing I made. But, I made a commitment to finish a song every month. Month 1 was "one day you will no longer be loved". Month 2 is currently out for demo right now. This here's month 3. I was really getting into Keinemusik and afro house, but I don't think I quite understand it, yet. How to really make it. Anyway, because it's not up there with something I'd want to really send out, but want to have accountability, here's September's track for the month.

From "Clear Blue Water" in 2001 to today, it's been 22 years since Oceanlab started up. Since then, Above & Beyond has been a massive part of my musical journey. Justine Suissa was one of the first vocalists in trance I knew by name and sound. In short, Oceanlab was the first trance act I truly fell in love with. 

"Satellite" came out in 2004 and was a massive hit. I remember hearing it and wanting to make stuff like that. Up until then, I'd been just messing around with Reason 2.5 a friend of mine gave me. After a few hours, I thought to myself that it'd be impossible to make something that I truly loved making as much as I loved hearing. 

That has changed. While I was making this, I ended up zoning out to it and just dancing along. Singing along, even. It's still an amazing vocal. I guess this is more or less a "thank you" to A&B and Justine Suissa. 

The only thing I would change about this is turning it from a remix into a cover. I don't think there's been many covers of dance music, and maybe... Maybe I should be taking some vocal lessons.

Did you know that Nadia Ali just... doesn't sing for dance music anymore? I do. I've hella noticed. Honestly one of the greatest singers in trance music. 

I miss her a lot. So... here's a remix of a favorite she made.

APJ 70 marks a special milestone in the series. It opens with textured, emotive rhythms and a more underground, introspective tone, less mainstream, more hypnotic. The first half explores deep, groove-driven territory with rich layers and subtle builds. As the set progresses, it evolves into deeper progressive trance, lush uplifting moments, and eventually peaks with high-energy Mainroom power, all while holding that emotional thread from start to finish.

APJ returns with episode 73, flowing from warm progressive sounds into uplifting trance as the energy rises. This one is all about evolving atmospheres, rolling grooves, and emotional lift-offs. Starting at age 4, Russell Paac started learning music. Studying classical piano, he knew very little about electronic music. It wasn't until he was 15 that he started listening and enjoying EDM. Under the Siraph name, he's put down multiple remixes and original tracks. The multitude of artists he's loved in the past are influential in his style today, with the likes of Above & Beyond, Lane 8, BT, Sultan + Shepard, Keinemusik. His Coffee House DJ sets are a study into music he's been gathering influences from since the pandemic, pandemic.

Shane Collins is an Irish DJ with a long-standing presence across the electronic music spectrum, known for deeply crafted, genre-focused sets that span Melodic Techno, Melodic Progressive House, Progressive House, Progressive Trance, Uplifting & Melodic Trance, and deeper Psy-influenced sounds. Whether it’s a warm, hypnotic journey or high energy trance, Shane builds each set with purpose, balancing narrative, rhythm, and energy.

With performances across Ireland, the UK, and Ibiza, Shane has supported some of the scene’s most respected names including Paul van Dyk, Lange, Dan Stone, Johan Ekman, Menno de Jong, John Gibbons, and many more. His selections are curated by instinct, not charts, chosen purely by sound, rhythm, and emotional impact.
