Part 1: The Cryo State 

The sleeper caskets of the haul vessel ‘Solar Kinosis’ began to flash their emergency lighting one by one, each rectangular object slowly phasing through forgotten protocols and activation logs. 

You were not meant to dream in hyper sleep, the process was a simple one, cryonic freezing allowed for long journeys to pass without time affecting the crew. It was a tired old trope that caskets were safe, but their use as a method for delivering human cargo never failed to ignite contention. 

There was always a strangeness to thought patterns under ice, shapes, faces and distant memories merged and swirled like billowing clouds. The experience was more akin to a hallucinatory fever dream or a forever k-hole, whispers of reality falling in and out.. 

Why couldn’t they grasp the pattern, fit the shape in the hole, acknowledge the vision? Who was that? Where were they? How did they get here? Where was here? And what was that noise, that incessant hiss and scratch, like a radio trying to tune itself in, a system attempting to align, something wasn’t right… Why couldn’t they place what was happening?

And then THEY awoke….

THE DEPTH CURSE SAGA

Part 2 - The Haunted Ship 

Embroiled in the violent solar winds of Sector 548 was not where they were meant to be, and there was no sign of any reconnaissance vessels nearby. Something had gone terribly wrong. How long had they been lost out here? 

A deeper inspection of the logs found a semi-organic anomaly had found its way into the ships data packets and started to merge with the technological network, corrupting and co-opting the central system into something new and strangely sentient. 

But THEY were the only one awake and too fearful to revive the others, as whatever this was had found its way into the hyper sleep caskets, mixing in with the crews DNA spectrum. The ship itself felt haunted, a thrum of mechanical bass rumbled in the distance while digital noises and human whispers whined through the dank metal corridors vying for attention. 

Searching for habitable planetoids through the basic controls yielded few options, but what other choice was there, the environmental systems were clearly degrading from the amalgamation. It was time to make a decision…

Land or be slowly ripped apart by the gravitational forces…

Part 3:

The Unknown Void

It had no official name, which meant no one had ever been here before, at least no one from Neo Earth anyway. The computer had it logged simply as NB-067328, a vaguely cylindrical object with enough gas and solid permutations to class it as habitable. At least they wouldn’t choke to death. 

The landing had been tame in comparison to the brutal orbital entry, the violence threatening to rip the ship apart at any moment. Now on the ground they had no idea what to do, the anomaly had made its way into the cores creating totally unknown circumstances. Every bit of raw data available suggested the thawing process could kill the others, but exploring the locality alone seemed like an equally dangerous and implausible option.

The surroundings outside were dank, swampy and filled with dread, but the planetoid teemed with organic life and the hope of survival. If only their navigational devices worked, but they too had been corrupted, flesh and machine seemingly treated equally. 

In the distance vast mountains towered over storm lit jungle terrain, desolate plains and remnants of ancient alien tribal ruins. Just surveying the landscape sent shivers down their spine but exploration was the only option, mobilising through darkness and silence with the ever present feeling of being watched.

Off they went, into the unknown…

Anomalous DJ is the alias of Antony Price & Sam Kingfisher aka SK, co-founders of Anomalous, a creative studio, event space and sound system.

Whilst having primarily focused much of their careers on audio visual production and nightlife documentation, Antony has consistently maintained DJ residencies and guest slots in London since the mid 90’s. His archivist approach to both music and club culture photography providing him an artistic form of narrative self-expression.  

As Anomalous they create bespoke and dynamic gatherings that encourage meaningful interaction and connection through dance, well-being and active listening. Cultivating a model of exchange and support, they use collaboration as a form of resistance to systemic norms, with the Anomalous Sound System challenging conventional spaces of communal gathering to follow in the ethos of free party culture.

We are The Half Heart Project, a charity music label based out of Omaha, Nebraska; dedicated to sharing the music of a community of producers from around the world for a cause. All earnings go to suicide prevention charities.
