This song marked a beginning—my first attempt at crafting a full piece that actually felt like a song, not just a sketch. Inspired by a life-changing experience, it’s moody, melodic, and charged with post-grunge energy. It was first demoed years ago and brought back to life this year, tracked entirely solo at home (except for vocals, done in studio).

kolek3k is a DJ, music enthusiast and an audio engineer hailing from Osijek, Croatia. His career started back in 1999 at first just as a DJ but soon to be followed by some of his first events. Kolek3k has been a well known name on the local scene and in the promoter’s circle since 2003. That alone wasn’t enough of a challenge so he decided to fully commit himself to learning as much as possible about the art of making the music. As of 2012. kolek3k is also an audio engineer with London Middllesex University diploma. In 2014 he started his brand Koscak Audio for event organising, producing / mix / mastering audio in his mastering studio and acoustic treatment in small and big rooms. 
kolek3k has played with a quite large number of well known DJs over the years and also hosted numerous events under various organisational monikers. TRAUM is without a doubt the strongest and the most recognisable brand of them all. TRAUM collective is a direct result of a years long collaboration with Insolate and Volster and since its very beginning in 2014 it has been the strongest brand for underground electronic music in the country. Beside TRAUM, kolek3k has also launched an  event collective called REZ which is more focused on promoting up and coming DJs leaning more towards the house music sphere.

Music never leaves you. You can pack down your guitars and hide your little black book of lyrics, but it’ll always come back around. Sullen Waves is music for those of us who’ve been there and know that we can never really leave.

Driven by a lifelong obsession with raw, powerful sound, Alex Pratsyuk is the creative force behind Sullen Waves. Shaped by a deep love for heavy riffs, gritty melodies, and unfiltered emotion, the music blends metal, punk, and grunge into something both intense and deeply personal. It’s the result of years spent immersed in loud, honest music—chasing the feeling that only a great song can create.

From the moment a guitar was in hand, the pull toward loud, uncompromising rock was undeniable. Influenced by the precision of Iron Maiden, the aggression of Slayer, and the raw energy of Nirvana, Alex found a voice in music that thrives on urgency and emotion. What started as an obsession turned into a lifelong pursuit of sound—writing, recording, and performing whenever possible.

Over time, Sullen Waves has taken on different forms—early recordings, live shows in legendary venues, and the release of the EP Sense of Emergency. The sound has continued to evolve, shaped by experience, new influences, and the natural progression of making music. The approach remains the same: loud, instinctive, and always searching for something real.

And on January 1st, 2023, she has recently dropped her sophomore album "See You Next Life."
