At the center of Woke thinking is critical theory. So, what is it? In short, critical theory is a tool for delegitimizing a real thing for not being some kind of sociopolitical ideal thing that cannot even exist. The way it works is by holding the real thing up to the standards of an imaginary ideal rather than against the contingencies of reality and criticizing it with the aim of breaking people's faith in it, simply for existing in reality. It's a wicked tool almost always used to undermine something legitimate so that something illegitimate can replace it (dialectics). The Essence of Critical Theory

In this episode, Dr. Sergio Zanotti discusses the assessment of peripheral perfusion as a tool to guide treatment in septic shock. Specifically, he dives into Capillary Refill Time. He is joined by Dr. Eduardo Kattan, a critical care and anesthesia physician. Dr. Kattan is an Assistant Professor at the Pontificia Catholic University of Chile, where he also serves as Adult Critical Care Program Director and Director of Research and Academics in the Department of Critical Care Medicine. A prolific investigator, he focuses his research on septic shock and medical education. Dr. Rattan is the Co-Principal Investigator of the recently published ANDROMEDA-SHOCK 2 clinical trial.

Putting that idea into practice started with a movement, but it required a totalitarian state apparatus to fully implement, to tremendous disaster. What was Adolf Hitler's real vision for the Nazi State? He makes it plain: the primary, if not sole, purpose of the state is to protect and improve the race. That is, Hitler's state wasn't ethnonationalist as a matter of happenstance but centrally, by design. In that regard, given the realities of Europe and the world, the Holocaust, and additional such racially motivated purges, were completely predictable all the way back to the mid-1920s in Mein Kampf. The Nazi Experiment, Vol. 10: Blood, Soil, and the Racial State

 Save State: Memory Leak is the second album in Baychimo’s Save State series, an ongoing exploration of music inspired by the worlds and sound design of retro video game consoles such as the PlayStation, PlayStation 2, Dreamcast, and Nintendo 64.

With Memory Leak, Baychimo delves deeper into the early-2000s aesthetic of demo discs and startup screens. Those mysterious, half-forgotten soundscapes that lived between menus and game previews in yesterdays polygon worlds. Moving beyond the jungle and breakbeat focus of the first Save State release, this album ventures into new sonic territory, blending atmospheric drum & bass, trance, acid, lo-fi ambient, and other retro styles.

The result is an album that feels like rediscovering a lost folder of game music from games like Soul Reaver, Ape Escape, Mega Man, Tekken Tag Tournament, Spyro The Dragon, Galerians, Oddworld, Tomb Raider lll, Wipeout, Ridge Racer and much more. A reflection of an era when gaming soundtracks felt surreal and other-worldly.
