Inspired by the Denzel Washington / Ethan Hawke movie, “X Training Day” is the point in The Butterfly Effect where the killer is jolted awake by a ringing phone. What follows is a hostage negotiation with the cops, played out through shifting perspectives: Silk (the killer) and Siege (the negotiator) trade lines back and forth, sometimes crisp and present, sometimes distorted as if over the phone. The result is a hyper-cinematic track, one of Bleed Electric’s classiest and most calculated productions. More than a song — it’s a scene, scored in real time.

X Training Day

Originally imagined for the unreleased concept album The Butterfly Effect, “IX Rapid Eye Movement” is a four-part dream sequence that drifts between reality and nightmare. Each sub-song — Better Than a Weekend in Spain, Hoobanging, Beverly Spilled Pop, and Wooden Shoes From Amsterdam — takes the listener deeper into the subconscious of the killer’s dreams. It’s experimental, cinematic, and pure Bleed Electric legacy. “Bleeding out blood like ketchup, I bet ya I catch up and get ya (I got ya)” shows off the crew’s wordplay, while “Hoobanging” delivers the hardest rap moment in the catalog, with Siege and Silk trading lines back and forth on their Blackberries in the booth, one-upping each other in real time. Surreal, ambitious, and dope as fuck — this is the essence of Future Fresh.

IX Rapid Eye Movement

The second act of The Butterfly Effect and one of Bleed Electric’s darkest creations. “III Chunks of Your Own Soul” soundtracks the moment the protagonist spirals into psychosis, turning a fight with a co-worker into a brutal murder. The middle of the song captures the fight itself, and the chilling shift afterwards marks the death. Its infamous hook — “I’m a psycho serial killa, got you trapped in a maniac thriller…” — is one of the hardest Bleed Electric ever wrote, merging alternative rock aggression with hip hop precision. Uncomfortable, violent, and unforgettable, this track is the sound of losing control.

III Chunks Of Your Own Soul

Another track born from Bleed Electric’s unreleased concept album The Butterfly Effect, “Birds As High As Planes” captured the moment when the rear-view blue lights come on and the protagonist realizes there’s no turning back. Reimagined here by Sven Erler, the remix flips the original into a high-energy drum & bass cut — amplifying the tension, urgency, and inevitability of the chase. An awesome reinterpretation that closes out Bleed Electric’s debut EP with a rush of adrenaline and a taste of chaos.

IV Birds As High As Planes [Sven Erler Remix]

Born from a remix competition that Bleed Electric hosted in 2009, “Eight Years Late For Dinner (Sven Erler Remix)” introduced the band to Sven Erler — a producer who would go on to reimagine several of their tracks. Sven’s version takes the surreal, cinematic core of the original (inspired by Flight of the Navigator) and flips it for the dance floor, breaking Bleed Electric out of their genre. It’s pure reinterpretation: darker, hypnotic, and designed for late-night clubs. A track that perfectly embodied the band’s mission to challenge expectations. Sven remains one of the truest talents to touch the Bleed Electric catalogue.

Eight Years Late For Dinner [Sven Erler Remix]

Originally written while working on the unreleased concept album The Butterfly Effect, “The Last Night of 1989” was Silk and Siege’s way of escaping the darkness for a lighter vibe. The result? The most pop song Bleed Electric ever created — packed with 80s references from Thundercats to Doc Brown, Deloreans, and Atari's. Released as the first thing the world ever heard from the band, it was a confusing introduction, but unapologetically fun. Looking back, it’s a nostalgic time capsule — the lighter side of Bleed Electric before the storm.

The Last Night of 1989

Recorded at Screamdelica Studios during the sessions for Kryophere’s debut album, “XII Special Weapons and Tactics” became one of the very first true death metal/hip hop collaborations. Born from mutual admiration, it forged an alliance between Bleed Electric and Kryophere, and set new ground for both scenes. Lyrically it’s bleak: the moment in The Butterfly Effect concept where hostage negotiations fail and the SWAT team storms in. Sonically it’s as terrifying as that sounds — designed to make listeners uncomfortable, yet unable to look away. A crucial track that kept Bleed Electric from going commercial and solidified the band as something truly Future Fresh.
