Starlings coming to roost on the eaves of our house's roof - a domestic situation. I managed to access the cavity through the loft space, and place a small lavalier microphone where I thought they were roosting. This was largely inaccessible to human-sized bodies so I taped it to a boom pole and the rest was guess work.

The racket they make and the mimicry skills these wonderful neighbours have, are something to behold.

I started playing the violin at the age of 5 and entered the Sengawa School of Music for Children attached to the Toho Gakuen School of Music. 10 years old, I also started composing music, and at the age of 17, I was commissioned to perform 8 violin pieces at the celebration concert held at Suntory Hall. I studied violin under Kumiko Eto and Rieko Suematsu.
