I wrote “Sweater Weather (Ronan’s Lullaby)” to capture the feeling of pulling a pile of blankets over yourself and letting the outside world fade away. It’s a mid-tempo instrumental built on cozy chords, a melody that drifts and plays, and a serene bass solo at the heart of it all. Even though I call it a “lullaby,” it’s meant to soothe without putting you to sleep—there’s gentle motion and a touch of energy throughout.

To bring that atmosphere to life, I turned to two longtime friends. Nailah Hunter adds luminous harp textures that feel like cloud blooms all around you. Jon Hoffmann, a guitarist I haven’t recorded with in more than a decade, layers in tender acoustic lines that complete the harmonies in just the way I imagined. We even added subtle Flamenco-style clapping for a little unexpected warmth and rhythm. My all-time mixing/mastering engineer Kevin Israel put things together so each element sounds unique by itself, and part of a greater whole at the same time.

The song is my way of welcoming the cooler season: the hush of wind outside, the comfort of a safe and quiet room inside. I hope it wraps you up the same way it does me.

I mainly write melodies, my pieces usually consist of a lot of melodic content and are melody driven. My music is multi-instrumental, I use many different instruments.. Many of my pieces contain more notes than a Pop song, less notes than a symphony. 

I compose music in many genres: Children's, Jazz, Melodic, Ethnic, Space, Halloween, Classical, Southern/Western, Rock. My music encompasses a lot of variety, it is eclectic. All my pieces have been notated, contact me and send me your email address if you want free PDF's of particular compositions. I currently use Sibelius 7.1.3 and Noteperformer. I have been writing music since I was in Junior High School, I have some songs with lyrics, but most are instrumentals. I was in band in High School and College, and I have been a member in several choirs as well.  

Update: I have recently uploaded virtually all of the compositions I have composed since 1997. I have included playlists as part of my offerings, with compositions from many novel genres.
