Een veel betere -en leukere- economie door een minieme aanpassing. Kan dat? En hoe dan? Dáárover gaat dit drieluik Economie Anders.


In deel 1 liet Godelieve Spaas de pijn zien die het oplevert als je -onbedoeld- de relatie uit het oog verliest in een economie. Concreet gemaakt met een waargebeurd voorval van bureaucratische facturatieprocessen. Gewoon "omdat ons soort organisaties nu eenmaal zo werkt", laat je de waarde van een mooie samenwerking verdwijnen en verwordt de uitwisseling iets zakelijks en onpersoonlijks. Koud, kil. In haar verhaal toonde ze het belang van het behouden van warme verbindingen.


In dit tweede deel neemt Mojra Vogelnik Skerlj je mee op verkenning hoe dat is als je elkaar minder goed kent. Is warmte en verbinding mogelijk -en wenselijk?- met mensen die je niet of nauwelijks kent? Kun je dat vertrouwen dat je met bekenden als vanzelf hebt ook inzetten bij onbekenden?


Het drieluik Economie Anders bevat drie van de modules van EXCHANGE -een zoektocht naar alternatieven om de economie weer warm en prettig kunnen maken voor mens, samenleving en planeet. Het vertrekpunt is de kleinste economische handeling, een transactie -exchange, een moment van uitwisseling- bekeken door de lens van kunst, ondernemerschap, wetenschap en onderwijs.

De derde en laatste aflevering van het drieluik Economie Anders, op zoek naar hoe we met minieme aanpassing de economie VEEL beter en leuker kunnen maken.


In delen 1 en 2 kwam het gebrek aan verbinding en de reikwijdte van verbinding aan bod. In deel 3 graven we dieper naar de kernelementen daarachter: Wat is nodig om die verbinding te maken en te laten groeien?


Onderzoeker, componist en theatermaker Falk Hübner onthult het antwoord aan de hand van een memorabele gebeurtenis die jazzlegende Herbie Hancock meemaakte tijdens een concert.


Daar ging iets mis, zou je kunnen zeggen. Maar het bleek de opmaat naar iets veel beters dan wat eigenlijk had moeten gebeuren.


Deze indringende ervaring bracht hem -en dankzij Falk ook jou en mij- diep inzicht in de hogere graad van samenwerking: het geven van vol vertrouwen én het nemen van verantwoordelijkheid.  Het brengt je naar volgende niveaus  van presteren, voorbij de discussie wie of wat een fout gemaakt, voorbij het idee van winnen en verliezen.


Maar hoe doe je dat, en wat heeft dat met economie te maken? Hier hebben we het over. We spreken over hoe je in de dagelijkse economische realiteit en samenwerking wederzijds vertrouwen en verantwoordelijkheid kunt kweken, hoe het begrip van "recht" en "verplichting" meer sámen kan worden. En daarmee hebben we het ook over hoe de kracht van verbeelding ons op nieuwe mogelijkheden kan brengen in onze dagelijkse bezigheden. Niet dankzij economische principes, maar dankzij de relatie tussen mensen.

“when commons become the seeds” reflects on the history of the commons and convivial tools and technologies. The lecture performance was presented at Zemljani / Earthlings at Šumski univerzitet / Forest University in July 2025 and incorporated embodied and sonic practices, theoretical inquiry, and site-specific experimentation. A prelude, led by Andrea Lumplecker comprised movement, listening, and sensing exercises. We dedicated ourselves to expanded listening and walking to help participants become enmeshed with the forest ecology and sonority. The second part comprised a live audio performance combining sonic exploration with theoretical discourse. Working with Florian Puschmann, who began his musical journey in the early 1990s and has recently evolved to create sonic ambient journeys for restoration, regeneration, and healing, we prepared an audio mixtape specifically conceived alongside the gathering, its site, and the script. Additionally, two microphones were used: one to capture place-based sounds from within the forest, and the other to enable a live reading of a text collage combining theoretical perspectives on the commons and convivial living and technologies. This approach to theory offers unconventional methods of bridging the gap between academia and affective, spiritual, and embodied knowledge, encompassing diverse sensing, soundings, and listening positions through more speculative research.

In the first half of the 20th century, a remarkable network of women existed in Sweden. Their activists bridged the intersection of feminism and the ecological commons, linking these issues to peace struggles in the face of war. First, they mobilized against World War I; later, they did the same against World War II. They firmly believed that there could be no peace for the people of the Earth unless they made peace with the Earth. In their 1940 manifesto, “Peace with the Earth”, they wrote, “This involves a paradigm shift and all that it entails in terms of social change.” In other words, they were struggling for nothing less than a social revolution to help overcome patriarchy, capitalism, racism, imperialism, and colonialism. And thus abolish the foundations and drivers of war. As Magdalena Taube explains in her introduction to the BG conference “Pluriverse of Peace,” the term “Pluriverse” evokes such processes and struggles.

Orchestral song I created around Christmas.
Trying to get the Strings dynamics to sound realistic, took a lot of tweaking the knobs, but I like the results.
I know the middle section of the song differs from the rest, but I had this little cello viola dance in mind and wanted to include it so bad.

And he is working as a solo now. Solo stuff had been released.
