Forever scouring the far corners of the globe for music from drifting ambience to the funkiest funk and rubberiest of basslines; digging through dusty crates of disco and diving into the Death Star’s trash compactor to rescue elusive machine funk; music is the real story. Records of all shapes and sizes are treasured and, forever feeling the pull of the record store, vinyl remains the chosen format. If you can’t understand the blues until you’ve had your heart broken, you’ll need to spend a night dancing through space and time to a funky bass line to get to know this DJ."

In the words of Alex: "As far as committing mixes to tape,  CD, or digital files goes, I’m hardly prolific. This goes back to my early days of hearing DJs play, and only having memories of these experiences. The time, the place, the moment - all being part of the music played - something hard to capture in a recording. 

Although not all these tracks are old, I wanted to put something together that brought back some of the feeling of those parties. Some familiar elements, some maybe unheard, some twists and turns along the way as a night starts out and builds before the inevitable sunrise. 

There’s no particular genre other than music I associate with great DJs I’ve heard along the way. Those memories of hearing the music break the silence and starting a journey to the pulsating electronic sounds, made by machines, that move a dancefloor in the middle of the night, and finally, the drift as dawn leads you into a new day and another moment made falls into memory."
