Igor Radošević, known by his artist moniker Cosmic G, has recently joined the esteemed E&X Records roster, launching into 2024 with his captivating "Human Spirit EP." The Serbian DJ and producer has seen a meteoric rise over the past year, releasing a series of acclaimed records on notable labels such as Haws, Goddezz, and Neptune Discs. This momentum has cemented his reputation in the progressive house and trance scenes. The EP features two original tracks, each accompanied by energetic remixes from French talent Clint. Next up on Basement Beats is Binary Ritual from extremely talented London-based DJ & producer Teetee. This track is a peak-time powerhouse, built on thudding drums and a rolling sub that anchors its hypnotic groove channeling the energy of 90s Goa. 

With warped vocal chops and trippy, psy-inspired melodies, Binary Ritual effortlessly blurs the lines between progressive house and psytrance creating an immersive soundscape of tension and release. 

A stand-out moment from this release process was having the track selected to be featured live on BBC Radio London, by resident DJ Jess Iszatt which was another massive milestone for us.

Cosmic G ─ Human Spirit [ER003]

The third instalment in our mix series comes from a close friend of the label, petar_tverkal, a Warsaw-based DJ and producer turning heads with her high-energy, trance-infused sound.

After first coming across her sets, it was clear her sound was a natural fit for Basement. We instantly connected over a mutual love for the same artists, labels, and a shared taste for fast grooves, strange textures, and progressive-leaning club sounds.
Starting her journey as a DJ before diving into production, petar_tverkal has quickly built a reputation for blending progressive house, eurodance, and fast groove techno. 

Her debut EP on German label Hyperrave blends hard groove and hypnotic techno, followed by a progressive house release on UK imprint Labonnemusique and, most recently, eurodance cuts via PULZAR.
In Warsaw, she co-founded WOX—a platform for workshops, lectures, and events supporting women and queer communities—and launched UWA, a night dedicated to supporting beginner DJs.

Torture the Artist is a webzine, or a magazine made for the internet, geared towards those with a passion for contemporary electronic music, with subgenres including Techno, Tech House, Deep House and Eletronica, as well as a small amount of Indie and Alternative. Founded in 2014 by Holger Breuer, a German native and lover of the arts, Torture the Artist now consists of five team members from all around the world.

In addition to publishing interviews, music reviews, DJ charts and track premieres, the webzine hosts out a  podcast series called 'art:casts'. This medium gives DJs and producers the artistic freedom to highlight their different musical styles while not being restricted by factors such as setting, and connecting them to a wider audience.

Bertha not only inspires the people around her with her positive energy and penchant for creativity on the dance floor but also on the decks. With her feeling for the music and the vibe in the room, the Hamburg native develops an atmosphere of a pleasant get-together and leads those who love dancing into a world of the fantastic.
