This week, Wenzel, Colt, and Tanner are back in Middle-earth one last time and discussing the final film in The Lord of the Rings trilogy: Return of the King! Just like the previous two episodes this is not like a normal "review + discussion" episode as they go right into talking about Flesh God, what Muppets would be LOTR characters, and a little bit about their thoughts on the film itself! Buchpräsentation: Koloniale Verstrickungen in Graz. Historische, politische und literarische Interventionen

Das Buch ist das Ergebnis einer intensiven Auseinandersetzung mit den kolonialen Verstrickungen in der Stadt Graz. Für die Konzeption eines Stadtspaziergangs – erstmals abgehalten im Oktober 2024 – bildete sich rund um das Forum Stadtpark eine Arbeitsgruppe mit dem Namen „Koloniale Verstrickungen“. Das Projektteam suchte Orte in Graz auf, an denen das koloniale Erbe, rassistische Repräsentationen und fortwirkende (post-)koloniale Machtverhältnisse zum Ausdruck kommen.

Das Buch stellt einen Zwischenstand der vielseitigen Aktivitäten des Projekts dar und beinhaltet neben 13 Erläuterungen der einzelnen Stationen des Stadtspaziergangs auch ein Interview sowie vier literarische Interventionen von Nava Ebrahimi, Barbi Marković, Muhammed Dumanli und Florian Dietmaier.

Im Zuge der Buchpräsentation, die musikalisch von Tobias Kochseder begleitet wird, möchte die Autor:innengruppe nach einer kurzen Vorstellung zu einer lebhaften Diskussion über die zentralen Erkenntnisse, Thesen und Leerstellen des Buches anregen.

L'année 2025 marque les 250 ans de la naissance de Daniel O’Connell, figure majeure de la politique irlandaise au XIXème siècle. Durant le mercredi 19 novembre et le jeudi 20 novembre, le Centre Culturel Irlandais et L’Ambassade d’Irlande se partagent respectivement ces deux jours pour vous proposer d'explorer l’héritage du “Libérateur” mais aussi ses liens forts avec la France et l’Europe. Ce colloque sera aussi une occasion d’ouvrir une conversation sur les résonnances des combats de Daniel O’Connell aujourd’hui et sur les enjeux politiques contemporains comme la démocratie ou la participation citoyenne dans les affaires politiques.

2025 marks the 250th anniversary of the birth of Daniel O'Connell, a major figure in Irish politics in the 19th century. On Wednesday 19 November and Thursday 20 November, the Centre Culturel Irlandais and the Embassy of Ireland respectively share these two days to invite you to explore the legacy of the “Liberator” and his strong ties to France and Europe. This conference will also be an opportunity to open a conversation on the resonance of Daniel O'Connell's ideas today and on contemporary political issues such as democracy and citizen participation in political affairs.

Episode 421 - Two Servings Of Derry

We went to see our doctor recently, and she told us everything was looking good except our bones. She concerned that they seem quite brittle, so she told us to get more Derry in our diet. We said "that's weird, we've been watching every new episode". She seemed confused by that and replied "No I'm saying that you need to consume more Derry."  "Umm... yeah we get what you're saying. We know we're two episodes behind, but we'll get caught up."  Still more confusion. We're starting to wonder how she made it through medical school. "I'm trying to tell you that, with your history inactivity and over-indulgence, your bones are going to start turning to dust. You have to do the bare minimum, and simply consume more Derry." "Fine, we get it, Doc. We'll watch both episodes this week."  She asked us to leave. We don't know what her deal was, but by doctor's orders, we had a couple extra servings of Derry this week.

Architektur, Literatur, Bildende Kunst, Film, Fotografie, Medienkunst, Gesellschaftspolitik, Musik, Theater, Performance, Theorie.

Es ist der Anspruch des Hauses, Labor und Plattform für viele Szenen der lokalen, Österreichischen und internationalen Kulturproduktion zu sein. Gegründet wurde das FORUM STADTPARK 1959 in Graz, unter anderem von Othmar Carli, Gustav Zankl, Siegfried Neuburg, Emil Breisach und Günter Waldorf. Sie adaptierten das leer stehende Grazer „Stadtpark-Cafe" für Kunstveranstaltungen. Der Name FORUM STADTPARK bezeichnet deshalb sowohl die Aktionsgemeinschaft, als auch den Ort mit der Anschrift Stadtpark 1. 

Heute finden pro Jahr etwa 190 Veranstaltungen im FORUM STADTPARK statt – der Großteil davon bei freiem Eintritt. Das Haus ist darüber hinaus barrierefrei zugänglich, verwendet Open Source Software, fährt mit Ökostrom und ist rauchfrei.

Le Centre Culturel Irlandais a pour mission de représenter et promouvoir la culture irlandaise en France. 
Le CCI présente les œuvres d’artistes irlandais contemporains, soutient les relations franco-irlandaises et leur riche héritage, et accueille une communauté de résidents vibrante et créative. Outre la diversité de son programme culturel, le lieu est doté d’une Médiathèque, premier centre de ressources sur l’Irlande en France, ainsi que d’une Bibliothèque patrimoniale et d’archives historiques.
