The third installment in my Diaries of Dúhas mix series. Ahead of schedule 😘

This here could be my favourite past mix, could be for the music, when the old melodic sound as we knew it peaked, before it evolved into something different, or more likely for the memories it takes me back to... 

Fully inspired by a 3-hour set from Tale of Us in the almighty Gashouder (The Mecca), for their 2021 ADE Awakenings Afterlife event in Amsterdam. Arguably the best night of my life & I'm not sure the energy in there that night will ever be matched... It was the first big event for so many towards the tail end of COVID... Day parties only (My favourite), nose swabs every morning to get a 'Pass' for events & reduced capacity (Plenty dancing space), still very bizarre thinking back to it. But taking all that into account, along with 18 months of lockdowns, face masks & being restricted from friends & family, it felt like freedom for a night and EVERYONE was on a another level... ✨

The only downside here is wondering if my clubbing experiences peaked that day, who knows... With a busted back who knows how my future clubbing experiences will be anyway 😂

Behind the name 'Moon Calling'... Between watching 'Berlin Calling' (Great watch) in the apartment one night that trip, and the energy level in the Gashouder that day reaching the moon. 

Latest health update: The decks are still collecting dust, but starting to feel like surgery recovery is heading in the right direction! Hope to be back at it soon...

The Department of Homeland Security failed to effectively implement a critical retention incentive program for cyber talent, according to a new report from the agency’s inspector general, which found that federal funds meant for the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency were used incorrectly. In 2015, the agency implemented the Cyber Incentive program. The goal, the inspector general said, was to provide extra incentives to employees that might otherwise leave the federal government. More than $100 million has been spent on the program in recent years. The program “was designed to help CISA retain mission-critical cybersecurity talent needed to execute its mission,” the report noted, and was meant to consider a series of qualifications to guide who received the retention benefit. The government hoped to keep in-demand technology experts in government. The watchdog wrote that “CISA’s implementation of the program wasted taxpayer funds and invites the risk of attrition of cyber talent, thereby leaving CISA unable to adequately protect the Nation from cyber threats.” Instead of being targeted toward valuable talent likely to transition to the private sector, the payments were disbursed generally, with many ineligible employees receiving tens of thousands of dollars in payment. 

The Pentagon’s chief information officer is undertaking yet another reform of the Defense Department’s IT enterprise — this time focusing on streamlining its classified networks to enhance data sharing and interoperability. Katie Arrington, who is performing the duties of CIO, plans to introduce a new program dubbed “Mission Network-as-a-Service” that aims to reduce the number of disparate data fabrics used by combatant commands into a single, unified network. Speaking last week during the Billington Cybersecurity Summit, Arrington said the program will be key to realizing the department’s vision for Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control, or CJADC2. Broadly speaking, CJADC2 seeks to connect the U.S. military’s sensors and weapons under a single network, enabling rapid data transfer between warfighting systems and domains. The Pentagon also wants to be able to quickly share relevant information with international partners and allies during conflicts, adding another layer of difficulty to realizing the construct.

Dúhas (DOO-has) — Derived from Gaelic term ‘dùthchas’ - Meaning ‘a sense of belonging’ to something/somewhere… 

Dúhas is the solo project of Scottish DJ and aspiring producer Craig Macleod — Marking a new chapter in his sonic journey. With a renewed drive to deepen his production skills and bring his creative ideas to life, Dúhas represents a shift toward fully embracing the craft of music-making and sharing it with the world.

The name Dúhas is derived from the Gaelic word dùthchas, meaning “a sense of belonging” — a concept that resonates deeply with Craig. Music has long been his constant, something he’s turned to through all of life’s highs and lows. Now, it becomes the focus of his next chapter.

After more than a decade in a demanding career, Craig is taking a well-earned break — giving him the space to recover from (hopefully) life-changing surgery and to finally invest the time and energy needed to realise his musical ambitions.

Since first stepping behind the decks in 2018, originally inspred by a fateful trip to Ibiza in 2016, Craig has cultivated a sharp ear for track selection, developing a deep and methodical digging process alongside a refined mixing style. Under the alias KYZ-R, he explored the worlds of techno and minimal. More recently, he has immersed himself in melodic techno, as the @CarnFada selector. His first major opportunity coming via a mix competition win to support Framewerk for TLF’s 10th birthday. Since then performing regularly as a resident at EVADE in Aberdeen and more recently appearing for Manchesters up & coming MELODIQ, whilst continually sharing mixes, some through channels like FFS and Housetape Radio.

Blending atmospheric textures, abstract soundscapes, and emotive grooves, KYZ-R draws inspiration from artists like Stephan Bodzin, Township Rebellion, Metodi Hristov, Nihil Young, Lauren Mia, and Oliver Huntemann to name a few, a long with labels such as Steyoyoke, Senso Sounds, Interstellar Recordings, and Stil Vor Talent.

Now, through Dúhas, Craig is stepping into a new & exciting creative space — channeling all he’s learned into a focused, personal project with clear intent and fresh momentum.
