This is a cover of one of my favourite songs in the world. The original is a masterpiece.
I play it live and it can have a different meaning to me every time I play it.
The lyrics are about falling in love and the excitement and uncertainty of whether you can trust the person...but that can feel like a metaphor inside a metaphor...for whether to open up  to fully live or to keep yourself closed. Like so many Abba songs, it's full of complex human truths!
Strangely, I found myself trying to get Velvet Underground inspired primitive drums and pounding pianos on this. I think it's kind of a weird, slow version which brings out some loneliness and a touch of desperation.

Pet Shop Boys & Dusty Springfield - What Have I Done To Deserve This ( Parnix Club25 mix)

This last Sublime Saturdays at Gelato Vero Caffe was a beauty. Kameron Burns shared his surrealist landscapes, and Cardboard Psychic and Thomas Fitzgerald complemented them with their serene soundscapes.

I am an artist, writer and musician from Hastings, UK.  I make slightly wonky acoustic folk-pop, often with unusual guitar tunings, along with instrumentals that mix acoustic and electronic textures. 

Musically my current obsession is Judee Sill.
But it always comes back to the music of my childhood- The Cocteau Twins, The Waterboys, ABBA, The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, Kate Bush.

As the son of a professional flamenco singer, Thomas has always been surrounded by music.  Exposure to flamenco influenced him because it has a dynamic range of emotions—from the "deep singing" style of cante hondo, to the more lively alegrias.  He has also worked in the corporate, independent, and online music industry for a number of years.  At one point he was a Content Manager for the Electronic Music genre at MP3.com, where he screened over 500 songs per day.  Exposure to a wide range of music explains the range of genres in his mixes—he uses whatever carries the mood.  From listening to Umm Kulthum's "Enta Omri" in his childhood, to New Wave and  Industrial as a teen, it became difficult for him to stick to one sound. Though vinyl was his original format of choice when he started in the 90s, the use of digital mixing has helped him better form soundscapes to expand your headspace.  Let him play with your moods for a spell.

Ropatt (aka Ron Patton) is a dynamic pop, jazz, and R&B artist who first made waves with his 2003 album Biggie Was Here. Hailing from Michigan, Ron dove into songwriting during college and became a staff writer for the legendary Holland-Dozier-Holland team.
