When my daughter, Gemma, was 6 years old (in early 2019), she asked me if we could write a song together.  We had listened to songs I wrote with my older children and she wanted to do something too.  So, we sat down at the piano and she said she wanted a simple tune and she plunked out a C, D, E and repeated it.  It was a very simple tune, and I had a few ideas on chords.  Within an hour, we had this song fully fleshed out.  The title was Gemma's choice.

Running through the summer haze, bicycles flying down the trails
Laughing ‘til we lost our breath, chasing echoes in the air
Forests whispered all our names, frozen moments in the frame
Every snapshot tells a story—now they’re all that still remains

Fireworks in winter nights, snow forts built in fading light
Coffee warming frozen hands, laughing loud, making plans
But time’s a thief, it slowly crept, took our days, the ones we kept
Now I’m staring at the past—tell me, can we bring it back?

I want to go back, relive it all again

Took the car and hit the road, just the two of us this time
Still we felt the empty space where the third one used to ride

Fun Facts:
The rhythm guitar is Dean's Ibanez 12-string.
It is probably the last verse which was altered in 1985, when George was reviewing his songs ready for these recordings.
George wrote the words hastily and they just came out of his imagination, rather than being based on anything that happened, or that he read or dreamed.

We believe in helping others in the face of corrupt laws and a broken system. We are pro democracy, green energy and free speech.
