We laid down that darker space music sound to complement that sublime namaste. We've been playing with some higher-BPM lately to change up the vibe and use som tracks that just sound better with tempo. They were gathering dust, anyways. Fly! Be free!

This mix is hands-down our favorite, so far. The vibe was more communal, with the music just low enough to avoid drowning out conversation, and just high enough to be enjoyed without being distracted by it if you're interacting with your people. "Reading Cafe" skill tree enhanced. It's its own thing.

We'll avoid a lengthy description. This one gets the mark of approval. Check it out and you'll see why. Sometimes it's ok to pat yourself on the back if you know you busted your ass.

Owl Farm 2025: sometimes sequels CAN be better than their predecessors.

What a weekend of amazing music, company, and adventure!

Once again, the good folk in Reno came together for an epic weekend, along with a number of new and familiar faces, springing out from the Pacific Northwest, San Diego, Arizona, and the Midwest.

It was fantastic.

This collection of tunes and ideas was meant to kick off the second day - a sunrise set that I wanted to drip with the exaltation and promise of a new morning. 

I hope that comes through as well in the recording as it did in the moment.

As always, I tried to bring my best, but it was just a small part of the enormous effort, collaboration, and attention to detail that everyone involved brought.

Live@Owl Farm 2025: Saturday Sunrise

This one got a little sexy. Sorry. Not used to playing this much Tech House, but it fit the vibe. People were moving. That's all that matters. I'm going to miss my power-up mornings. I'll let you know when Rise Ritual and Sublime Saturdays reincarnate. In the meantime, let me know if you hear of any other morning dance parties. I'm not a morning person usually, but coming out to play made me one!

Klaus Benedek grew up in a small town near Vienna. His interest in electronic music began during the 90s techno hype. He spent hours watching video clips on MTV and viva and thus gaining knowledge about electronic music. In 2004, he began teaching himself to produce. Gathering his inspiration wherever he could, he began collecting 12" vinyl records the same year and 2 years later got his first dj-gigs. From 2008 till 2010 he was one of the resident DJs at the MNML Thursdays in the Camera Club. In 2012 he started with Alex Kolodziej the event-series Tellerbetrieb. Currently he finds most of his inspiration in Chicago House, Deep House, Disco and Breakbeat. After releases on labels like Petrol Dollar, Subversaal, rekooda, Soul Shift Music, Clean and Dirty Recordings and tanzbar, Klaus launched his own label forTunea in 2014.

As the son of a professional flamenco singer, Thomas has always been surrounded by music.  Exposure to flamenco influenced him because it has a dynamic range of emotions—from the "deep singing" style of cante hondo, to the more lively alegrias.  He has also worked in the corporate, independent, and online music industry for a number of years.  At one point he was a Content Manager for the Electronic Music genre at MP3.com, where he screened over 500 songs per day.  Exposure to a wide range of music explains the range of genres in his mixes—he uses whatever carries the mood.  From listening to Umm Kulthum's "Enta Omri" in his childhood, to New Wave and  Industrial as a teen, it became difficult for him to stick to one sound. Though vinyl was his original format of choice when he started in the 90s, the use of digital mixing has helped him better form soundscapes to expand your headspace.  Let him play with your moods for a spell.

Karim Yousry is a veteran in the Egyptian DJ scene, having been a driving force since the early 2000s. Despite his long career, he continues to push boundaries and evolve his sound, always seeking out new and exciting music spectrum to share with the world. Through his work, Karim has had the opportunity to share the stage with internationally renowned acts like James Zabiela, Artbat, Mark Knight, Nick Warren, and more. One of Karim's biggest achievements was his successful "Abstrakt" event, which provided a platform for upcoming artists to showcase their talent while inviting some of the most prestigious international artists to share their underground sets. Karim's commitment to promoting and supporting other artists speaks to his passion for the music and the community that surrounds it.

In 2018, Karim won the "Mix of the Month" competition hosted by Decoded Magazine, a testament to his skill and creativity as a DJ. His signature morning gig "Tangerine" by the Nile has also been a huge success.

Karim's mixes have been featured on Frisky Radio, Proton Radio, Deep House Toronto, and the vinyl-only label Romanian Label "Audio Mutz." He is known for infusing his sets with his own unreleased productions, giving them a unique sound and style.

In addition to his love for rare old hidden gems, Karim is always digging for new sounds and experimenting with different genres, including micro, Afro, and deep house. The result is an edgy, funk-inspired style that is unmistakably his own.

Karim’s production work continues to gain international recognition. He recently released a track on the acclaimed Tzinah Records VA, a label supported by leading names in the industry. Additionally, his remix for Francesca Lombardo’s “Wanna Dance” was selected as one of the winning entries in the prestigious Echolette remix competition, further cementing his reputation as a creative force in the electronic music scene.
