Fun Facts:
Frustration Song was composed at 19 Haldon Road, Exeter.
George wrote it after a period of frustration.
He had been in a relationship with a girlfriend who liked him to do absolutely nothing for long periods of time.
As a person who was always active, he found this very difficult.
It is written on the lyric sheet "A song for" and then the name of the girlfriend.
This was the most reggae song he had ever written up to this point.
The bassline was the creation of Jerry from Rough Terrain.
One of the voices was recorded with the tape slowed down to give the voice a different sound.
The distorted lead guitar is plugged directly into the portastudio. rather than using a mic and a guitar amplifier, to give it that distinct tone.

But she ain’t slept in nearly a week.

Side effects are the only gain —

YouTube freaks with “sponsored deals,”
Sellin’ serotonin in glossy reels.
“Weight loss wonder!” “Just one jab!”
No mention of the panic grabs.
Nausea, vomiting, sh*tty nights,
Dizzy spells and appetite frights —
I begged her: “Eat something real!”
She said: “You're just jealous of how I feel.”

Told her she's beautiful — the kind that glows.
Now she glows like a UV rose.
Everything sharp, tight, and tweaked —
She traded her smile for plastic chic.

Syringe binge — now she’s hollowed out,
Thinks she’s hot but I’ve got doubt.
Injected lies, influencer sin —
There's no soul underneath that skin!
 She don't laugh, she don’t eat —
She just stares at her own two feet.
She’s a thumbnail now, not a friend —
And I don’t know how this ends…

J'ai acheté une boite à musique il y a seize ans parce qu'elle avait quelque chose d'intéressant : elle n'utilisait pas de cylindre cranté en guise de partition mais utilisait à la place des bandes de papier que l'on pouvait trouer avec une perforatrice spéciale. En collant ces différentes bandes ensembles, on pouvait faire des mélodies plus ou moins longues.

Il y a seize ans, je commençais tout juste à jouer dans un groupe, j'avais à peine commencé à écrire des morceaux et je n'avais pas d'ordinateur pour enregistrer ou composer quoi que ce soit.

J'ai testé des petits patterns polyrythmiques sur cette boite à musique pendant quelques semaines et puis j'ai remisé cet objet dans une boite durant seize ans.

En retrouvant la boite il y a quelques semaines, je me suis dit qu'il serait amusant d'enregistrer l'une des bandes perforées et d'ensuite voir s'il était possible de faire quelques chose à partir des patterns écrits en 2007. Voici le résultat de cette expérimentation.

J'ai essayé de modifier le moins possible le matériaux d'origine. J'ai néanmoins procédé à quelques changements pour des raisons pratiques (la Nintendo DS n'a que trois voix de polyphonie) ou esthétiques (certains patterns sonnaient mieux une fois légèrement arrangés). J'ai parfois ajouté à certaines notes de la reverb lorsque l'effet était intéressant. Je ne me suis pas interdit de modifier quoique ce soit à ma convenance en essayant de rester fidèle à la matière d'origine.

Pour garder un son assez brut, proche de l'enregistrement de la boite à musique, j'ai enregistré toutes les pistes de la DS en une seule piste mono.

We support all independent musicians who are doing something we find interesting. Our team members all have formal music education qualifications.

We are against corporate brainwash muzak, their puppet friends in the mass media, and many other corporate activities. We will fight their desecration of music until either it stops or we die. 

We believe in helping others in the face of corrupt laws and a broken system. We are pro democracy, green energy and free speech.

We're politically liberal. We cannot support the republicans, maga or gun violence in the usa. We don't see there's any real difference, other than in name, between the christian far right in the USA and the taliban in Afghanistan.

We support independence for Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Cornwall. We support the individual and the underdog. We are anti-putin and his war, and pro-Ukraine.

Phillip Foxley is a songwriter and musician. He writes and produces multi-genre music for licensing or covers from his home studio in Conwy, North Wales, UK.

With influences from every corner of the world, Foxley has now released his own debut album entitled “I’ll Try ‘Till I Die”, an eclectic collection of original blistering blues rock guitar and soft acoustic and piano tracks written over the years.
