So! Here is my live recording of the Plant Sound Journey i did at Boom festival this summer 🍃🌱🌿
I never did a whole set playing only plant generated sounds before. I also never played such an “ambient” set, not in anyway attemting to intensify, but rather inviting the audience to fully slow down. 
To, just for this one hour, put aside all we think we know of how we safe the planet through what we eat and how we live with nature. To put aside everything we logically know and studiet about, but to rather emphasize with it and for once just truly try to listen to what it wants to tell us. 
I feel that we live in a world where the art of listening, is something we have to relearn. 
To listen not only with our ears and mind, but also with our hearts and intuition.
I believe that only then, we would really be able to hear the clear message being given. 
That only then, we really connect and become one 🍃

"Je ne sais pas" est une méditation musicale inspirée par le célèbre proverbe chinois sur les quatre types de savoir. Le titre explore la profondeur de cette sagesse : reconnaître son ignorance (celui qui sait qu'il ne sait pas), faire preuve d'humilité et rechercher l'éveil (celui qui ne sait pas qu'il sait). Sur une mélodie pop philosophique et introspective, cette chanson est une invitation à l'introspection, au questionnement permanent et à la prudence face à l'arrogance. C'est en embrassant l'incertitude que l'on commence vraiment à apprendre et à avancer.

AYO is the solo project of danish composer, producer and sound artist Julie Schønherr Rosengreen.
AYO has been touring all over Europe since 2015. She has been playing in Morocco and The United States.
Some of the festivals she performed at includes Boom Festival, Ozora Festival, Freqs of Nature festival, Anthropos, Hadra and The Rendezvous - Tipper&Friends in Florida.
She has been performing for The Danish National Bank, at the beautiful Thorvaldsens Museum in Copenhagen, composed music for the theater play “Anna Walk With Me” and currently she is working both with installation art and performance art, making interactive and generative sound with plants, water and the human body. 
In 2020 she released her debut album Moto on Sofa Beats records. This was followed by several single & compilation releases on labels like Microcosmos records, Altar records and the danish female label SØNTH collective.
Her second album is soon due for release.

AYO strives to send a message of a more harmonious cohesion with nature, with each other and with ourselves. By incorporating nature elements into her performance, she tries to give nature back the voice it has lost. Giving the listener a chance to emphasise with it, by letting plants and water generate the sounds they hear, in an always evolving and generative pattern, which makes every performance new and unique.
Combining that with playing live hardware synths and her classical influenced compositions, the listener is presented with an experience of nature meeting electronics and the deeper emotional self -floating in to a world of dreamy and melodic soundscapes, dynamic pads, processed foleys and recorded ambience.
AYO has been playing and composing music since she was a child. With a background as a violinist and as a classical musician, the ambient genre was later a place where she felt at home and where she could express and unfold herself freely. 
She has a bachelor degree in electronic music and sound art from The Danish National Academy of Music. Here she has honed her expression and further developed her "voice" in order to be able to stand stronger with her message and vision.
