First-class dreams, tacky and louche, vinyl seats, sticky cocktails, giddy highs, and lusty stomp. Polymath rock ‘n’ roll electronics that work a little less obviously, but feel a whole lot better. The group came together to bring you there. The Tegel Boys make modern disco body music, in- flight acid house, airport-blues-boogie, hi-fi dada-rap for those tuned-in psychic travelers. A locomotive and leaden groove onboard, a wink to the frequent flyers, a fountain of sample-delic digger knowledge and circus hijinks spill out on the active runway where the boys navigate it to cruising altitude. They are an amalgamation of talent bubbling forth from the Berlin underground channeling parallel lives in NYC-Loft-

 Manchester-Hacienda-Southside-Philly- Berghain-Berlin-Konono-Kinshasa-Acid-Istanbul and every other boogie-scorched molecule of human hip- shake. Obstinate, modern, deeply soulful and playful dance music from the family
The members of the Tegel Boys are all seasoned club veterans with an eye on the underground, but with a level of experience and sophistication for bringing music to any room and audience. Joel Black (Hazy Pockets) can be found making noise as resident DJ at the infamous Kater Blau club in Berlin, while booking and hosting notorious party series as far-flung as Tbilisi, Georgia, Zermatt Switzerland, and beyond with founding contributions and regular participation at the Garbicz Festival and PEOPLE Festival among others. Producer Jeremy Black is a prolific songwriter, studio-magician and producer with writing and collaborations spanning all modern genres (White Denim/ FJAAK) Included in the group are Turkish- psychedelic-rock legend, drummer and percussionist Alican Tezer (Insanlar, Ayyuka, etc.) and local guitar phenom and gourmand, Antonio Rilling. This lineup, and a mix of acoustic and electronic elements lends the Tegel Boys a unique ability to tune their show to specific club, party, and event stages. They lend their music and organizing support to local and international causes for equality and radical inclusion in the music scene. In addition to the live-band and deejaying activity the members are active prolifically as bookers, talent- buyers, and music-directors for numerous clubs, hotels, and gastronomic concerns worldwide.



Love ‘Em & Lear ‘Em [Original] A sultry strut out of the gates, Love ‘Em & Lear ‘Em demonstrates the Tegel Boys effortless sample-happy disco instincts, delivering a steady percussive-driver of a track, with inescapable groove. Head-bopping, shuffle percussion, and bass throb are expertly laid down with teasing robo-girl vocals flying in and around the mix, eventually building to muscular downtown-NYC-post-punk breakdown, making this a proper weapon in the right DJ-hands. The Franz Matthews remix is a decidedly shinier, crisper, laser-precision take on the track, featuring a souped-up hypnotic bassline, four on the floor drum mechanics, and a hefty dose of wild-safari escapades added to the core movement. Funky 80s synth-stabs and Red Axes kraut guitar jump on the train and take it to new heights.

The second instalment of the Crazy P Curate series again features four exclusive new tracks hand selected by the much loved doyens of disco and beautifully complimented with bespoke artwork from renowned Bristol based visual artist Victoria Topping.

‘Hot Toddy’ is well known as a multi instrumentalist founder member of the band but also highly respected in his own right as a producer and remixer under the Hot Toddy name including his all time classic interpretation of ’Never Gonna Reach Me’ and original works for Paper Recordings, Smoke n Mirrors and House of Disco. Toddy has commandeered the skills of John Thompson on bass to create a moment of Balearic bliss with perhaps just a hint of ’Theme for Great Cities’?

If there’s one dance band that truly deserves to be called ’legendary’ it would be Manchesters ‘A Certain Ratio’. Formed as a post punk outfit in 1977 they have been there and written the book releasing timeless music on some of the greatest indie labels of all time: Factory, Creation and Mute. A massive honour to have a rare outing from the band on another label and as always their contribution ‘Atmosphere Sings’ sounds like nothing else around.

Equally deserving of the term legendary, albeit it in a different universe of Cosmic Disco comes Daniele Baldelli working alongside Marco Dionigi on a disco dub masterclass ‘Neono’ that sounds like it would grace the dancefloor of the legendary Cosmic club or A Love From Outer Space session.

Mancunian synth queen ‘Sarah Bates’ wraps up the record beautifully with her transcendent vocal cut ‘All About That’. Classic machine drum programming and low slung bass drive forward insistently while subtle keys create a strong and moody atmosphere ready for the haunting vocals to hang over the mix. Fans of Virgo Four and Larry Heard need to check this cut.

Organizing contemporary electronic music events in Slovakia.

In the day and age where anyone can become a producer or a DJ with a laptop and a bit of cheap software, the real polymaths stand out. Joyce Muniz’s background as a singer combines in powerful synergy with her slick production sound and her supreme skills as a selector, with each facet of her creative output feeding into and fuelling one another. 

Born in Brazil and moving to Vienna in the mid-90s to her pursue her musical dreams, she started out mixing drum & bass and breaks, and soon landed a residency at the legendary Flex Club. This regular slot pushed her to develop into playing a more eclectic multitude of styles, from house and techno to dub. It was here that her ‘sound’ began to form, drawing on a wide range of influences and styles and filtering them into a dance floor context. Amassing a huge vinyl collection and a deep knowledge of electronic music along the way, she laid her strong foundations in these formative years.

She began her production career in 2010 in the Viennese underground, fusing the sounds of her homeland with the contemporary beats of the city. Her first forays into production saw her combine her native Brazilian sounds with modern electronica, but as the years progressed she has moved towards an eclectic, vibrant take on house music music. Along the way she has collaborated with a diverse range of artists including Viennese legend Richard Dorfmeister (of Kruder & Dorfmeister) and The Jungle Brothers’ legendary Bam. She has released on influential imprints like 2020 Vision, Get Physical and chiefly the mighty Exploited, which brought the world her impressively accomplished full-length debut album, Made In Vienna. She also counts remixes for the likes of DJ Hell, Steve Bug, Maya Jane Coles, Claptone, Munk, Shonky, Stereo MCs, Tosca and Till Von Sein to her name, landing on acclaimed labels like K7!, Poker Flat, Gomma, 8Bit and SUOL in the process.

As if the busy touring schedule and production output wasn’t enough, she also hosts her own radio show on FM4 Vienna,, promotes her Joyce Muniz & Friends club nights, speaks regularly at Native Instruments MASCHINE events and is working on her very own live set which is sure to set pulses racing. A four-month residency on the prestigious Rinse FM has been the icing on her cake in recent times. When you exude boundless creativity as she does, juggling this many projects isn’t just natural; it’s essential.

Her production talents have also begun to attract other artists, with the likes of electro-pop sensation Little Boots and Austrian jazz crooner Louie Austen enlisting her for collaboration. More co-creation with other talented names is set to follow, with her production work for other artists set to become an increasingly important part of her oeuvre. Creating that synergistic feedback loop that helps to stimulate and nourish her own solo work, it’s something she’s seriously dedicated to building up. Meanwhile her DJ sets to continue to amaze crowds around the world, taking in everything from deep, dark, percussive drums, to electro and driving house beats.

With singles upcoming on Gigolo, Exploited and Gruuv as well as a remix of the legendary Paul Simon for Sony, she will continue to be a dominant force on dancefloors in the next few years.
