A piece of melancholy about being an introvert and needing a certain amount of time to myself. It was written to a songwriting challenge to use ascending or descending lines.

Als je introvert bent, voldoe je in onze maatschappij ook niet aan de norm. Er wordt namelijk van je verwacht dat je extravert bent en dat begint al op de basisschool. Kimberley heeft daarom al heel vroeg geleerd zich aan deze norm aan te passen, zij wilde ook “normaal” zijn. Wat is dat nu eigenlijk: introvert zijn? Is dit hetzelfde als verlegen zijn? Betekent dit dat je nooit een presentatie voor een groep mensen kan geven? Kimberley moet dat laatste wel regelmatig doen in haar functie als trendonderzoeker, een baan die goed bij haar conceptuele manier van denken past. Ze vertelt erover in deze podcast.

Life can be difficult for introverts, of which I am one.  

Uncomfortable in crowds, finding unstructured social gathering a nightmare and seeking out solitude and preferring our own company, if we can get away with it. Often considered ‘odd’ or ‘stand-off-ish’ by others…it can be exhausting.  Well, this one is for my fellow odd ones out.

I've been a guitarist since the age of 15 and writing songs since then, albeit more prolifically since 2000. I prefer strong melodies and to borrow chords to move outside of the diatonic. Usually, the song mix contains my vocals, guitars and sometimes bass, with drums, keys and other instruments auto-generated. The tracks uploaded in my Soundcloud are attempts to 'illustrate' the idea and sound I imagined when writing the songs. At best, the quality of recordings are demo quality. You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear!

Mensen met dyslexie, ADHD, ADD, dyscalculie, autisme en/of hoogbegaafdheid denken anders. Anders dan de meeste mensen! Dat kan onhandig zijn, maar levert ook veel kwaliteiten op. Acid-Tekno-Drum`n bass dj and producer. Started dj-ing mid 90's,when he was part of the "4 acid eyes only" soundsystem. His first real appearance as a dj, was at a Queensday rave in "het Duitsche huis", Utrecht 1996. Together with Sam C and B-Art2 he founded Dosis Decibel Records and Dosisdb soundsystem in 2002. Bringing their unique mix of Breakbeats and Tekno to many dancefloors in the Underground Tekno scene. 
 eMeL has released his music productions on labels such as: Dosis Decibel Recordings, Neurotrope, Azt3k, Karikatuur, Tekno Sucks, Obs.cur, Future Frequencies, Tenebreuse Musique, Violent Cases, Acid Night, Mysteries, Hangar, Tikal Sound, Melting Bass and his own label Koncept Kore which was founded in 2012. Formerly he was shortly known as dj Mackie (Dosis decibel Records 01). eMeL produces mental hybrid techno- acid core ,breaks, ambient flavoured soundscapes, and hardcore tek crossovers.
