Chicago multi-talent Lane Beckstrom drops the second single from his upcoming debut LP, set to release later this summer. 

Best known to date for his prolific work as a bassist in groups like The Social Experiment (with Chance The Rapper & Nico Segal), Resavoir, The JuJu Exchange and Kids These Days, here Beckstrom continues to step forward as a solo artist, handling all of the vocals, bass, keys and drums on "Mineral" (with producer/engineer Paul Cherry assisting on guitar and some additional synths), a song which Lane describes as "a summer bop for anyone that knows they're in love forever."

This song is a portrait of love and marriage, trauma and heartbreak including vocal overlays by Shelly Truman. Droning bass, trance inducing beats with just enough lyrics and original recorded audio sounds that speak volumes about the ups and downs of life.

Bit of a mixed bag of styles and genres…
consistently amateur and homemade though… and just for the fun of it!

Half the songs here are just me noodling away on my own… (using garageband on my ipad, headphones, and a couple of cheap old guitars).

…the other half are recorded during very occasional jam sessions with some lovely talented old friends, who bring my song ideas to life, spontaneously, usually one-take, having never heard them before.

Trance Induced Music Making is Shelly Truman of Prolific Aesthetics and the label TTwinz. Shelly is  a prolific producer of music and visual media, scientist of sound. Ttwinz is her independent label. Shelly Truman is a producer and performer based in the US West Coast, from Port Townsend, Washington and Tonopah, Nevada. She creates electro, techno, with environmental soundscapes, drum and bass, ambient, synth, dark wave, electro-pop, and downtempo sound collages. Primarily a keyboardist, she also plays a variety of instruments, produces, mixes, and masters her own work. She uses environmental sounds, such as owls, orcas, coyotes, meticulously matches beats and sometimes lets things glitch out.
