English story (french below) : 

I was meant to mix for a family wedding. So, I planned to mix some dub from my father’s roots collection. He died some years ago and I thought it could be a joyfyl wink to reunit us. But a drunken guy came and cut the music after just a few minutes. He thus put the « Madison » because they wanted « shitty music » to dance on, as he told me. Tired and upset, I went to sleep in the car, because my tent-mate snored too loudly. 
Rather than recording a mix which was not to be played, I selected four parts of what I prepared to do four mashups, so this moment could become something else to be shared with people I love. For each mashup, two of the four tracks come from my father’s collection, the other two are representative of my own influences. 

The mashups are made of bare loops extracted from each track as samples and then played with 4 decks alternatively.

Je devais mixer pour un mariage en famille. Du coup, j’avais prévu de mixer un peu de dub issu de la collection roots de mon père. Il est mort il y a quelques années, et j’ai pensé que ce serait un clin d’oeil joyeux pour nous réunir. Mais après seulement quelqes minutes, un gars bien allumé est venu couper le son directement. Il a mis le « Madison » car ils voulaient écouter ce qu’il a lui-même nommé « de la bonne grosse musique de merde » (sic) pour danser. Fatigué et un peu vexé, je suis parti me coucher dans la voiture, car mon compagnon de tente ronflait. 
Plutôt que d’enregistrer un mix qui ne devait pas être joué, j’ai choisi quatre parties dans ce que j’avais préparé que j’aimais bien, pour en faire quatre mashups, pour faire de ce moment quelque chose d’autre que je pourrais partager avec celleux que j’aime. La moitié de chaque mashup est composée de morceaux dub issus de la collection de mon père – l’autre moitié est issue de mes dernières influences. 

Les mashups sont purement constitués de boucles extraites de chaque morceau, comme des samples, qui sont ensuite jouées à quatre pistes alternativement.

This track is about keeping steady amidst whatever might happen in the world. Loss, gain, divorce, new love, petty arguments, annoying people, a job that isn't satisfying, sore feet, political madness, consumerism, greed, etc. You get the point. Any number of things, big or small, can destroy one's happiness. I wrote this song to solidify my stand as the master of my own life, but it turned out to fit just as well as an anthem for the modern age, as we find ourselves amidst a rate of change faster than ever occurred. Keeping the mind stable and happy is key to the art of life.

Life By My Design

This song has undergone several incarnations. Recently, I scrapped everything except the lyrics and the key. I had written this song in Sardinia in 2017 and at the time, had no loop station. I felt so strongly that this is a great song lyrically but musically it never sat well with me until this current version. 

This song is a reminder to not forget that you are loved, valued, appreciated, and cared for even in those times when you feel alone, or like no one is there because no one is PHYSICALLY there. The yogis say that we suffer when we forget our true nature, and the fact that we are always connected to each other through a vastly intricate web interwoven events throughout time.  Remember your nature. You're never alone.

In the 90s, he began his career as a beatmaker and DJ under the names DJ TKO and TAKEO SUZUKI in the club jazz unit "O.M.U.", releasing CDs on the Nippon Columbia Triad label. He then released a completely self-produced album on the German label 99.

After leaving O.M.U., he took a break from music. Around 2020, he resumed his music career, and has been actively releasing experimental electronic music, techno, psychill music, and other music, mainly ambient, on bandcamp.
