Funk Soul Brothers Part 9

Killer Boogie landed on the myhouseradio.fm airwaves with the third instalment of our new blood pact with the main man, De Gama!   

Kicking things off for the first hour is De Gama himself, armed with a sackful of dynamite tunes that will blow your lounge slippers off and replace them with roller boogie skates. Featuring tracks from Young Pulse, The Reflex, Andromeda Orchestra and Love Drops to name but a few. 

Joining De Gama as his special guest this month is the one and the only Monsieur Van Pratt! MVP (aka Jesus Rodriguez needs no introduction - absolutely one of Mexico’s finest, he is a multi-talented producer, DJ and the head honcho of one of the hottest labels out there - Super Spicy Records. Monsieur Van Pratt, founder of Super Spicy Records, is a prominent producer and DJ originally from Mexico City, whose influence on
electronic music is widely recognized both nationally and internationally. With an impressive career that includes more than 100 releases in digital format and 30+ on vinyl, which consolidate him as a key figure in the genre.
His music has been released by prestigious record labels such as Toy Tonics (coming on 2025), The Disco Express, Tropical Disco Records and Buddha Bar, among others, underlining his status on the global scene. His ability to fuse genres, attention and styles has captured that of critics and the public, leading him to collaborate and remix a series of renowned international and national artists. Spinning since the 80s disco era, Enrico witnessed the rise of electronic music, fueled by the soulful energy of jazz and house. In the 90s, he carved a small niche on the Swiss French Riviera, captivating audiences with his diverse electronic sets – house, deep house, disco grooves, and tech-house explorations that keep the dance floor buzzing.

Less known as DelicateSoul, his productions and remixes are a genre-bending blend, where soulful melodies meet infectious club bangers. Behind the scenes, he even sprinkled some magic on iconic tracks by Swiss artists back in the early 90s (shhh, it's a secret!).

Shunning the spotlight, he always championed fresh talent, fostering new voices instead of chasing the DJ superstar route. He always thrives in intimate venues, weaving musical journeys that connect with passionate crowds.

The Black Light Disco show airs exclusively on the #1 house music station on the planet - myhouseradio.fm. Tune in every Monday from 2pm-4pm EST, 7pm-4pm GMT, 8pm-10pm CET. 

The idea of Black Light Disco became a real thing when a few like-minded DJs and producers came together to put on a night showcasing the very best in disco, house and funk and everything in between. Our ethos is based around a very simple concept: GOOD MUSIC, GOOD TIMES with GOOD PEOPLE. We announced ourselves on a gorgeous sunny Saturday in June 2019 with an all day and night party in Liverpool’s thriving Baltic Triangle area. It was the start of something very special. 

We have a solid core group of musical talent residing in BLD Towers hailing from England, Scotland, Wales, Northen Ireland and Italy -  providing perfectly cooked grooves and juicy basslines. 

The BLD team comprises of Esteban, Goz (Spin City), Pookie Knights, Cole Kutz (Opentempo.fm) De Gama and Fingerman (Hot Digits) – clocking up decades of DJ’ing and dancefloor experience between us. As individuals, the BLD team have been producing consistently high quality sets over the last few years. Now, as a collective, the aim is to make Black Light Disco THE place to promote new music and to bring you the very best in established/up-and-coming artists and producers in the sunlit uplands of sonic pleasure. 

In January 2020, we launched a weekly show on THE biggest house music FM radio station in New York, MyHouseRadio.fm (also available digitally at www.myhouseradio.fm).  The Black Light Disco Show airs every Monday exclusive to MyHouse Radio between 7pm – 9pm GMT (2pm -4pm EST), bringing you the finest in disco, funk and boogie; all delivered by our expert in-house Sonic Consultants (resident DJs) with guest mixes from the hottest producers, DJs and artists out there right now.

Paul started DJ'ing in the early nineties and went on to become a regular playing bars, clubs and underground house parties around London and the South East. In 2010 after a long period in 'DJ retirement', Paul re-discovered his love for dance music with a particular focus on the emerging edits and disco scene.

He's a resident DJ for Shade Disco and has been on warm-up (and closing) duties for The Shapeshifters, Late Nite Tuff Guy, Dr Packer, Michael Gray, Melvo Baptiste, Fingerman, Babert, Hifi Sean and Vaudafunk to name a few.

Together with close friend and disco legend Evil Smarty, Paul launched Project Bango - a monthly night of upfront disco and house which has brought a vibrant new party buzz to Guildford's underground club scene.
