Effelsberg, is one of the most important radio telescopes in the world and one of the largest freely movable ones. Even today. Many years ago, I had the opportunity to join a group of students from the University of Bonn for an introduction to the working methods and global networking of radio astronomy at Effelsberg. It was an unforgettable experience. Beautifully situated in the Eifel, not far from Bonn and Cologne, it does its work in exploring the universe. Vor vielen Jahren hatte ich Gelegenheit, mit einer Gruppe von Studenten der Universität Bonn, eine Einführung in die Arbeitsweise und die weltweite Vernetzung der Radioastronomie in Effelsberg mitmachen zu dürfen. Urmitz, ein kleiner Ort in der nähe von Koblenz, im Mittelrheintal. Es ist früh am Morgen. Die Sonne ist gerade aufgegangen und vertreibt den noch im Tal liegen Frühnebel.

Bei der Entstehung dieses Songs hatte ich von Anfang an dieses Bild im Kopf, das ich, vor etwas mehr als 10Jahren, in der Morgenstunde aufgenommen habe.

Mit der Umsetzung des Songs hab ich mich dieses mal schwer getan, da ich sehr lange an dem Mix gearbeitet habe. Ich wünschte ich hätte zwei gesunde Ohren. Ich hoffe trotzdem, das ihr viel Spaß beim hören habt.

English translation:
Urmitz, a small village near Koblenz, in the Middle Rhine Valley. It is early in the morning. The sun has just risen and is dispersing the early morning mist still lying in the valley.

When I wrote this song, I had this picture in my head from the very beginning, which I took more than 10 years ago in the early morning.

I had a hard time with the realization of the song this time, because I worked on the mix for a very long time. I wish I had two healthy ears. I hope you enjoy listening to it anyway.

I wrote this song at the beginning of 2021. Now I've re-recorded and remixed it. 
The working title was ‘Aero’.  Some times I experimented a bit with speech generation. That's why you hear ‘electric music’ spoken in German (elektrische Musik) in the song. Hence the subtitle: elektrische Musik

Anfang des Jahres 2021 habe ich diesen Song geschrieben. Nun, ich habe ihn neu aufgenommen und abgemischt. 
Der Arbeitstitel lautete "Aero" Irgendwann hab ich etwas mit Sprachgenerierung experimentiert. Darum hört ihr im Song "elektrische Musik" auf deutsch gesprochen. Daher auch der Untertitel: elektrische Musik
Ich hoffe ihr habt viel Spaß beim zuhören

The title is motivated by some new sounds I have created. The sounds for Blofeld, Microwave, ANA 2 and other synths are partly orientated on the sound of orchestral instruments from the woodwind section.
But since this is a classic EM track, I designed the video accordingly. There are hints of electronic music from the 80s/90s in the song and the video.

Der Titel ist Motiviert durch einige neue Sounds die ich erstellt habe. Die Klänge für Blofeld, Microwave, ANA 2 und andere Synth orientieren sich teilweise an dem Klang von Orchester Instrumenten aus der Abteilung Holzbläser.
Das es sich aber um einen klassischen EM Track handelt, habe ich das Video auch dementsprechend gestaltet. Im Song und im Video finden sich Andeutungen zu elektronischen Musik der 80/90er Jahre.

I would like to use this piece to thank you for nominating me for the Schallwelle Award 2024. 🙏 Even though I wasn't able to hold the prize in my hands last night, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart. It was an unforgettable evening with lots of nice people, great concerts, delicious food and exquisite gestures, an all-round success. The Huble Space Telescope captured an image of the Tiger's Eye Galaxy in February 2011. The spiral galaxy is also known as NGC2841. NGC 2841 is an unbarred spiral galaxy in the northern circumpolar constellation. It was discovered by German astronomers as early as 1788.
I was so fascinated by this image that Huble created that I simply had to make a song about it. So let's embark on a long journey, because NGC2841 is around 46 million light years away from us.

Das Huble-Weltraumteleskop hat im Februar 2011 ein Bild der Tigerauge-Galaxie aufgenommen. Die Spiralgalaxie ist auch als NGC 2841 bekannt. NGC 2841 ist eine Spiralgalaxie im nördlichen Sternbild Zirkumpolar. Sie wurde bereits im Jahr 1788 von deutschen Astronomen entdeckt.
Ich war von diesem Bild, das Huble schuf, so fasziniert, dass ich einfach ein Lied darüber machen musste. Begeben wir uns also auf eine lange Reise, denn NGC2841 ist rund 46 Millionen Lichtjahre von uns entfernt.

I returned after the hearing loss (deaf in the right ear) and a long abstinence to electronic music in 2014/16.
While I used to make music exclusively on hardware synthesizers in my early days, a number of virtual instruments are now in use. My DAW is Ableton Live with a lot of Plugins ;-)
For many years, I have only been able to hear on one hearing. This makes it difficult for me to mix them but I give my best.
Besides music, photography is my great passion, that's also where my artist name comes from. Therefore all pictures and photos that can be seen on Sondcloud are my own work.
