In 2023 my studio partner Adam Dubuc wanted to test some new equipment and also practice his engineering chops, so I 'volunteered' to be the recording artist. We recorded to two-inch tape and used SMPTE time-code to sync to a computer, which was actually only providing a click track (I didn't want any computer stuff on the recording, but he wanted to experiment with the synchronizer). A version was mixed using some inappropriate-yet-comical samples (synced from the computer via SMPTE-to-MIDI using Ableton) over the drum break, though it has been thankfully lost to time.

This song was originally written in 2017 and a version of it was released with my old band, Pixels, as 'Evil Eyes' on the 2017 EP 'Accessories' (75 or Less Records).

The cover photo is from some recording session in 2023, close to the time we did this song.

Outtake of my upcoming instrumental album "Major Arcana". The beat didn't make the cut to becoming "The Hierophant" as I was not completely happy with the Keys I added onto the sample base. I reworked the keys several times, but I never managed to be fully satisfied. When I left the keys away, the beat felt to empty on the other hand, so I scrapped this one from "Major Arcana" and started a completely new one.
