In den letzten Jahrzehnten gab es viele neue Marken und Biere, aber seit kurzem steht eine knallbunte Flasche mit einer Comic-Vulva und dem Label "Muschikraft" in den Regalen in Österreich und Deutschland. Klar, dass das polarisiert - und auch klar, dass wir als BierTalk die Sache unter die Lupe nehmen wollten. Wir haben mit der sehr sympathischen und engagierten Gründerin Anna Sophie Tschannett gesprochen und uns nicht nur zum Thema Bier, sondern auch zu vielen anderen wichtigen Aspekten rund um Fairness und Gleichberechtigung in der Branche ausgetauscht. Herausgekommen ist nicht nur eine sehr unterhaltsame Episode, sondern auch eine, die zum Nachdenken anregen soll, will und (hoffentlich) wird...

Biertalk - Folge 120

Things are tough at CheapShow HQ, their rival podcast clone, Thrift Pod, is casting a long shadow over Paul & Eli and they wonder if their beloved economy comedy podcast can survive much longer! In a decision that definitely won’t bite them in the ass later on down the road, they agree to let Richard Brandoff sort the situation out, once and for all. On the off chance he is successful, what will his act of revenge cost the cheap chaps? While they wait for Brandoff to put his plan in action, it’s time to delve into doing what Paul and Eli do best. Whatever that is! This week, they have two weirdly flavoured hot sauces to sample, one of which takes Paul by surprise. There is also a chance to down some booze when they discover a range of Northern Monk ales that tastes like a range of Aunt Bessie desserts… and a roast dinner. It can’t be that bad, right? Do they taste… custardy?

Ep 348: The Custard Note

Grimbergen Abbey has not had its own beer since the brewery was destroyed during the French Revolution. After more than 200 years, the 15 monks of Grimbergen Abbey and the brewery groups Alken-Maes (Heineken) and Carlsberg have now decided to resume operations at the abbey north of Brussels, Belgium. A microbrewery with a capacity of 10,000 hectoliters per year started production in 2021. Father Karel combines his daily monastic life with the management of the abbey brewery and supports the master brewer Marc-Antoine Sochon. To this end, he completed an apprenticeship at the Jacobsen Brewery in Copenhagen and received theoretical instruction at the Scandinavian School of Brewing. Today, the brewery has three beers: Grimbergen Astrum Pale Ale (6%), Grimbergen Magnum Opus Brut (8%) and Grimbergen Ignis Quadruple (10%), but father Karel and the brewmaster are already working on new beers, especially some barrel-aged ones, as he tells us in the podcast...

Markus Raupach arbeitete als Fotograf, Journalist und Medienprofi schon bald nach der Gründung seiner Medienagentur 1998 für Brauereien, Hotels und Gastronomien. Seit 2005 erschienen zudem 40 Bücher aus der Feder des Bambergers, darunter auch Brauereiführer für Franken, Bayern, Sachsen, Thüringen und Berlin. Aus zahlreichen Veranstaltungen, die er seit 2006 organisierte, entstand schließlich die Idee einer BierAkademie, die er 2013 mit der Gründung der Deutschen BierAkademie verwirklichte, wofür er mit der “Goldenen BierIdee 2015” ausgezeichnet wurde. 2019 erhielt er diese Auszeichnung erneut, diesmal für die Realisierung seiner Idee eines “Walk of Beer” in Forchheim.

Markus Raupach ist Diplom Bier-, Edelbrand- und Käsesommelier, erfahrener Juror (u.a. European Beer Star, World Beer Cup, Brussels Beer Challenge, World Beer Awards, Brazilian Beer Contest, Champion Beer of Britain, Copa Cervezas de América, Meininger Craft Beer Award, Best Finish Beers Helsinki, Birra dell’Anno Rimini, KuBo Award Bozen, Rosglavpivo Beer Competition Moskau), Mitglied der British Guild of Beer Writers, der Master Brewers Association of Americas sowie Träger des Bamberger Bierordens, Vorstandsmitglied von Bierland Oberfranken und vom Verband der Bayerischen Edelbrandsommeliers. 2017 wählten Branchenvertreter Markus Raupach bei den TOP 50 Awards des Bier, Bars & Brauer Magazines zu einer der 50 bedeutendsten Bierpersönlichkeiten Deutschlands. Seit 2018 ist Markus Raupach zudem Dozent an der Genussakademie Bayern.
