Oliver stumbles upon two kids -- Joell (Patience) and Ellen (Justice) -- who were rumored to have gone missing from the safe haven. The kids, terrified that they're gonna be sent back and grounded forever, act out and initiate battle.

Oliver's task is to convince the kids they're not here to ground them or to return them to the comfort of the safe haven; Oliver themself knows being stuck in a place you don't want to be isn't exactly pleasant.

'Pazienza' (Patience) was published in 1964 by O.U.P. as one of Whitlock's 'Reflections - Three Quiet Pieces'. Whitlock died on May 1st that year. He had been diagnosed with Tuberculosis in 1928 at the age of 25 and became increasingly blind at the end of his short life. He also suffered from bouts of hypertension and died of a stroke, aged only 42, one month short of his 43rd birthday.
I found much valuable information in Malcolm Riley’s biography ‘Percy Whitlock, Organist and Composer’, Thames Publishing, London, 1998. Please buy a copy, it's full of wonderful insights into this witty and multi-talented organist and composer, poet, writer, rail enthusiast, engineer and loving husband.
