Marcia Peck is an award-winning writer and accomplished musician, celebrating over 50 years as a cellist with the Minnesota Orchestra. 

Inspired by the rhythms and sounds of music echoed in language, her debut novel, Water Music: A Cape Cod Story, combines all of her passions –music, writing, and Cape Cod. The book has received critical acclaim and has received many book awards, including Literary Titan Gold, National Indie Excellence Award, New England Book Festival Regional Lit Winner, and Feathered Quill Reviewers Choice Award Winner. Additionally, she was a finalist for American Writing Awards, Eric Hoffer Award Grand Prize, Firebird Book Awards, and Wishing Shelf Book Awards. Pacifica book Awards designated it as a “Notable Book” and her book was long-listed by both Historical Fiction Company Book-of-the-Year Award and Somerset Book Awards. 

Peck's writing has received awards from New Millenium Writings (First prize for "Memento Mori"), Tamarack Awards (honorable mention for "An Unexpected Cadence"), Lake Superior Writers' Conference (First Prize for "Pride and Humility"), Glimmer Train(finalist for Very Short Fiction Award for "The Flavor of Borscht"),Flash quake (nomination for Pushcart Prize for "Long Distance"), and MnArtists Mini Stories (Winner for "Little Vladimir's Father").

 She is the grateful recipient of Artist Fellowships from the Minnesota State Arts Board, Loft-McKnight, and the Jerome Foundation as well as residencies at Hambidge Center in Georgia and Ragdale in Illinois. A cellist with the Minnesota Orchestra for her entire musical career, she is inspired by the rhythms and sounds of music echoed in language. Peck graduated from the legendary Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. She studied with famed Italian cellist Antonio Janigro in Germany for two years. 

Her articles have appeared in Musical America, Strad Magazine, Strings Magazine, Senza Sordino, the magazine of the Minnesota Orchestra and the op-ed pages of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Her fiction has appeared in Chautauqua Journal, New Millenium Writings, Gemini Magazine, Glimmer Train, 26 Minnesota Writers (Nodine Press), Tribute to Orpheus 2(Kearney Books), and three volumes of Open to Interpretation: Fading Light(Taylor and O'Neill).

Her work has been supported by the Minnesota State Arts Board, The Loft Literary Center, and the Jerome Foundation, Ragdale Foundation and Hambidge Center. Peck grew up in New Jersey and summered in Cape Cod. Her love for Cape Cod has been a strong and deep current throughout her life. This month's conversation is with artist and healer Sārāh Mārtinus. Sārāh Mārtinus (she/they) is a research-informed artist and ancestral lineage healer. Her work focuses on relational kinship & contradiction (non dual, ritual) practice, decentralizing, deconditioning, and decolonizing through process-led co-emergence and intrapsychic ecologies. She writes, paints, and creates sound through centralising darkness, transformation, and intersectional shadow integrations, her multi-media practice operating as a form of processual meaning-making - locating wound within cultures of disappearances.

As descendant of both migrating Sri Lankan diaspora and Irish settling colonies, Sarah came into being on the unceded lands of the Wurundjeri People of Woiwurrung language group, in Kulin Nation; the Traditional Custodians of Naarm/Melbourne, Australia. Her lineages weave through South Asia & Europe, outwards/inwards, reconciling in rivers of reparation, remembrance

Her work is currently published through 'unbecomings', Zilberman Gallery, Berlin (October, 2025), curated by Misal Adnan Yildiz after their constellating of performance dialogues ‘When one of us remembers who we really are, all of us remember’ at Pickle Bar, Berlin (June, 2025).

We all sweat as we provide care, as we labour, as we perform our work, as we fuck, as we survive and as we sacrifice one choice for the other. How exactly do we define our work and how does that work entangle and circumscribe our sexual identities, our racialized bodies, our creative lives and the ways in which we provide care? How do we perform both tasks and identities within the framework of that which we consider work? These conversations are a means to speak between intersectionalities by anchoring through our (always, already, and ever pervasive) sexualized and racialized bodies, our working bodies, our artistic bodies and our performative bodies. I hope that they contribute to dialogues which normalize sex work as work, and all work as deserving of respect, healthy conditions, and a living wage.

Bucaramanga es escenario de la séptima edición de “Euforia 2025: Festival de
Expresión Queer”, que se realiza del 6 de septiembre al 31 de octubre.

Este espacio busca fortalecer las capacidades artísticas de la comunidad diversa a
través de talleres gratuitos de danza, teatro, drag, voguing y performance, con el
propósito de consolidar el arte como herramienta de resistencia y transformación
social.

Mila Bahamón, creadora del festival, explica que la iniciativa nace después de la
pandemia como un lugar de encuentro y confianza para la comunidad.

“La idea del festival nació de la necesidad de abrir espacios de exploración un poco
más abiertos a la comunidad diversa, sobre todo después de la pandemia, cuando
todavía había miedo y no existía una confianza tan grande de juntarse. Por eso
decidimos fortalecer espacios donde el encuentro y el arte fueran lo primero”.

La programación incluye seis talleres formativos y un evento de clausura en
Municipal Música Viva, un espacio de aprendizaje y exploración dentro del
movimiento Ballroom.

Además, durante el festival se articulan iniciativas sociales como “Abrazos de
Mamá” y jornadas de pruebas gratuitas de VIH, ampliando el alcance de las redes
de apoyo.

Bahamón resalta la relevancia del evento al ser el único en la ciudad para la cultura
diversa.

“Este es un espacio abierto, de formación desde las artes y la cultura queer,
pensado también para quienes quieren explorar, entender su cuerpo, su sexualidad
o identidad y fortalecerla a través de los talleres. No hay más festivales como este
en Bucaramanga ni en el área metropolitana, es un punto de encuentro necesario
para la comunidad y sus aliados”.

La edición de este año cuenta con el respaldo del Ministerio de las Culturas, las
Artes y los Saberes, así como de colectivos locales como The Coven Bucaramanga
y la Plataforma LGBTIQ+ Santander, garantizando un proceso cultural construido
desde la autogestión y la sostenibilidad.

Los escenarios principales del festival son la Casa de la Danza, donde se
desarrollan los talleres, y Municipal Música Viva, que acoge el evento de clausura el
31 de octubre.

Neste episódio, a atriz, com um percurso que atravessa teatro, cinema, televisão e animação, recorda o início da sua carreira, aos 10 anos, quando percebeu que «o palco era o melhor sítio do mundo para estar». Mais tarde, dá-se o encontro com João Mota e é no Teatro da Comuna que se estabelece por mais de 15 anos. Alejandro De Nardi is an Argentine composer, producer and live music performer currently based in Baden Württemberg, Germany.
He is a prolific studio wizard who has composed an extensive production of more than 400 tracks since 1998. 
His creative work led him to compose different genres of music, including contemporary music, salsa, electro-tango and Latin jazz. On December 27, 2021, in the midst of the pandemic, Alejandro decided it was time to enter the world of electronic music: "Time to play Techno." Within a month, his studio was transformed into an electronic sound design laboratory. Akai Force, Arturia Polybrute, Waldorf Iridium, Moog, Elektron and Erica Synth are some of the instruments responsible for the genre typical sound palette. After intense months of researching this new genre and balancing the analog sounds with the rhythmic and melodic forms of the electronic genre, the first compositions were created, most of which were recorded as live improvisations in the studio with Joel De Nardi, who was responsible for the rhythmic sequences. 

All compositions are based on scripts created by Alejandro as a basis of inspiration, which in the future will lead to an expansion of his artistic career in the field of film music and audiovisual installations. 

Alejandro De Nardi is a tireless artist who explores different musical genres to inspire his diverse followers. He is also new to this environment, but determined to win the admiration of his new audience.

Alejandro De Nardi es un compositor, productor y ”Live-Performer” argentino radicado actualmente en Baden Württemberg, Alemania. Es un prolífico músico de estudio con una extensa producción de más de 400 composiciones desde 1998. 

Sus labor creativa lo llevo a componer diferentes géneros musicales desde música contemporánea, Salsa, Electro-Tango y Latinjazz. El 27 de diciembre del año 2021 en plena pandemia, Alejandro decide que es tiempo para incursionar en el mundo de la música electrónica, ”Time to play Techno”. En cuestión de un mes su estudio se convirtió en un laboratorio electrónico y diseño sonoro. Akai Force, Arturia Polybrute, Waldorf Iridium, Moog, Elektron y Erica Synth son algunos de los instrumentos  responsables de esa nueva paleta sonora típicas del género. Luego de intensos meses de explorar ese nuevo género y balancear los sonidos analógicos con los sonidos acústicos ademas de las formas rítmicas y melódicas del género electrónico comenzaron a surgir las primeras composiciones que fueron grabadas en su gran mayoría como improvisaciones en vivo en el estudio con Joel De Nardi, encargado de las secuencias rítmicas. 

Todas las composiciones están motivadas por guiones cinematográficos creados por Alejandro como base inspiradora, lo que en el futuro llevara a una prolongación de su carrera artística en el ámbito de música para películas y instalaciones audiovisuales. 

Alejandro De Nardi es un artista incasable que explora diversos géneros musicales en búsqueda de inspirar a sus  diversos seguidores y también nuevo en este ambiente pero decidido a ganarse la admiración de su nuevo público.
